That vile old lady

Naw this ain't about Mother but it's about the old lady I got for a neighbor...she could be Mothers sister from he11....for 2 years now this has bin simmering...she is abrupt to the point of being rude...and the only time I ever see her is when she has some kind of complaint to make to me...and the usual opening remark is, "Come over here I want to talk to you."

The opening gambit 2 years ago was that she wanted me to pay for 1/2 the block wall they built before I bought the house....I demured due to my law suit..........the latest complaint has been about a drainage pipe that was stubbed out just over the property line during my repair work...she threatened to call her attorney if it wasn't moved....iI refered her to the construction co, and they moved it....

So we come to today..I finally get the Construction company to come back after 6 weeks to finish their cleanup....I am waiting for the Foreman to get off the phone to talk to him about the slab of concrete that borders her property and that the fall of the concrete allows water to drain onto her property and that a Deco Drain will have to be installed to prevent it...When she comes out of the house and says the usual salutary greeting..."Come over here......" I said "No , your the one who wants to talk to me." So she walks over and says, "What are U going to do about the problem." I says "What problem." 'You know what problem the cement." I said, "Talk to him he's the Foreman representing the contractor." and I turned to walk away.."She said don't walk away your responsible too." I called the Foreman over and teld her to explain to him the problem which she did...finally asking him for a business card or piece of paper to write the number down (I had given her a card previously to contact the construction company). So she walks off to her mailbox...when she cames back I told her,"she was one rude old lady." She accused me of being a "Cheat" because I didn't pay for 1/2 the wall, I said "I was just about to talk to him about the drainage before you came out and were rude as usual" She replied your "Sick" and I replied I would be happy when she moved away (her house is for sale). She then said, " I'm going to talk to my attorney." I said, "Sue me.. your a rude old lady and I'm done with you." turning and walking away...to which she replied... "Your a crazy old B@$tard."......

Now this exchange upsets me to no end....I know I'm 'SICK" everybody here has told me that in no uncertain terms and that I'm "Crazy" too....I freely admit it all.. but what gets me is the "OLD" part....I have a hard time thinking of myself as being old...and thats coming from a woman who was around when Christ was a kid.....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1121907242.jpg

The house I grew up in, the same house my dad was born in had a swale in the middle of the concrete between the two houses. What has happened to a little common sense?

That old lady sounds horrible, they can get real mean at that age. Walking away is the only thing you can do sometimes, the other options are NOT so pretty.

Edited to add the word "not".:)

This is hearsay..I was told by a neighbor that she is so mean that she even made her old Mother cry... that is before she died....2 weeks after the old lady died she put the house up for sale...

Her mother called me once in the mornining about the block wall..she was abrupt to...but I kind of liked her...there was something down to earth about her...and not so imperious....

Tab's
Buy that Witch's house and turn it into a shelter for struggling Show girls. Then the soil won't seem so bad ;)

A bit off topic, but why are all the fences around houses in SoCal, Vegas, and at least in Phoenix all made out of cinder blocks? Makes your back yard look like a prison compound.

Gather up some dog poo, put it in a paper bag, light it on fire on her porch, ring the doorbell and RUN!

Write something in her lawn with bleach.

Wait, you live in the desert. Rake the sand in her lawn to spell something.

Send her an FTD pick-me-up bouquet with a nice note saying that you are sorry for the heated exchange, and that you understand how tempers often flare when one' property is concerned, and that if she would ever like to come over for a cup of tea and some biscotti, it would be your pleasure. Thank her for her continued patience during the construction process.

one day when i was building a deck, the neighbor old lady came over with baby steps and a scoliotic spine, and dragged me back to her place. she had meticulously been removing, brick by brick, the tower supports from each end of a carport overhang at the unoccupied house next door. she explained that it shed water into her yard, and into her basement. she wanted to know if it i thought it would fall into their yard if she gave the remaining wrought iron support a WHACK.

sounded like a plan to me!!
