BBQ ashes?

hey, are ashes good for fertilizer? or is someone pulling my leg?

I throw my leftover charcoal ashes in the compost pile. Keeps it from stinking. Probably slows down the decomposition, but that really doesn't matter to me.

I used ashes and rabbit pellets in my flower beds and the plants love it!

Ash is good for fertilizer.
