nails in the coffin

Lil "W" just got caught again...this time it's his two boys Rove and Cheney. Seems that Ms. Miller named Libby, Cheneys chief of staff as the person that leaked CIA operatives names. I'm sure that Cheney, Rove and Libby never talked about getting back at Plume before hand. HA...HA... that's a joke....Now we'll see if Mr. Bush does what he said...and fire anyone who is guilty of this in his administration.

"The timing of the criticism by former Ambassador Joseph Wilson was devastating for the White House, which was already on the defensive because no weapons of mass destruction had been found in Iraq. The president's claims of such weapons were the main justification for going to war." WPost.

Of course W promised Texans that he had no intentions of running for The Presidency and that he was content to be the governor of Texas. Too many promises for votes and spin, not enough gumption to follow through...

techweenie 09-30-2005 03:12 PM

Rove has slipped out of so many hairy spots before, I'm not ready to assume he'll be indicted.

But it's clear that there are people in this administration who'd jeopardize national security just for a little political payback. Just how much higher than Libby will it go?

arcsine 09-30-2005 03:29 PM

The problem is the W waffled on just what he was going to do. Initially it was fire the person(s) responsible for the leak. When it became clear that it was someone in the admistration it became if they are guilty of violating a law.

speedkillz 09-30-2005 04:07 PM

Just one more sound bit taken out of context.... I'm sick of it. I'm waiting for the spin doctors to say he never said that ...he meant if .......and if.... and if....insert foot in mouth here.

Joeaksa 09-30-2005 04:11 PM

I am sure that this is way different from another President telling the world that "I did not have sex with that woman" then trying to hide behind the defination of "what is is"...

Am sure that all of you were jumping up and down saying that he was wrong at this time as well??? Not defending what happened nor who talked but would love to know your feelings on Clinton lying to us.

Yea right....

When I heard BC say, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" , I can't recall exactly but I know I was thinking something along the lines of, "what a fuking liar."

Those thoughts seem to return when Bushie speaks too.

I pretty much though Bill was lying through his smiling teeth or at least induce some spin on things. Same as W.

stevepaa 09-30-2005 04:24 PM

Joe
Well you already know my opinion of the "lie". However, I think he was wrong in act and wrong in his responses. But he appeared to be caught off guard. Would have been better to say nothing at the time. Get straight with his wife and then admit bad behavior.

Joeaksa 09-30-2005 04:31 PM

My God, there is something really funny going on in the universe! First Tech and I agree on something now Stevepaa and two other Democrats and I see eye to eye.

I need to go out immediately and play the lotto. Something is up....

Joe,
Just in case you think of me as one of the "two other democrats", I honestly do not trust any of them. To me, the current regime is just particularly egregious with it's actions.

bryanthompson 09-30-2005 04:43 PM

meh. i'll wait for the movie.

stevepaa 09-30-2005 04:47 PM

"All The President's Men" done already:)

But this begs another question " What does it matter what we thought of something that happened 10 years prior and our reaction to it? Cannot issues with regards to W be discussed without historical reference? Or is there a need to be able to point a finger and say "Well, he did it first!"?"

Just asking.

Gary, they can but it seems that certain people on this forum feel that if W picks his nose that its a cardinal sin, while if Clinton dicks the entire WH staff (while being married I might add) that its just fine.

If someone says that they could care less what Clinton did while lying to the entire world but has their feathers ruffled by the above situation with Bush, then I could care less about their opinion because they are going after the party and the person at the head of the party and not being objective in their morals. Clinton and other Presidents did not always tell the truth and if we all admit it and realize this its a bit easier and more fair.

For me I would much perfer Bush as a President. Clinton was just too slimey, but then he was a lawyer. Bush is not perfect but he is a moral man, loves and sticks with his wife and I feel that he is trying to do what is right for this country. Not everyone feels the same way but thats their right.

W promised a higher level of ethics than Clinton. "Bring honor back to the White House."

Is it not fair to judge him on his promises?

Joeaksa 09-30-2005 06:11 PM

Sure is and most of us are doing just that. So far would much rather have Bush than Clinton. Also, Monica's and the rest of the White House staff's dry cleaning budget agrees with this statement.

speedkillz 09-30-2005 06:28 PM

I'm not talking about Clinton getting ()&)()(&*. so lets make This a Clinton thing again...man how old. Did "W" say he would fire the SOB that gave out the operatives name or not.??? simple. and now that the smoking gun is pointing right at the white house ....I don't think he has the balls.

Joeaksa 09-30-2005 06:58 PM

Craig,

You hit it right on the head. You want to forget that "your" President did the same or worse things while in office and nail the current office holder. This thread has nothing to do with honesty or the office of the Presidency, its just another witch hunt against the Repubs and Bush!

Next time you might learn from your collegues above. At least they see the connection.

Balls? Well, over the internet it takes a lot of balls to do what you are doing. Hope you come to the Pelican meeting in Vegas, then we can talk in person and see how you feel and how brave you are then! Lots of us conservatives just cannot wait!

No balls, no BJ. That`s how it goes. It all makes sense all of the sudden ;)
