Republicans on the ropes

Ohio Governor at 15% approval

California governor at 33% approval

Bush at around 40% approval

As Limbaugh once said: 'conservatives are always at their best when they are out of power.' Looks like all of these faux-conservatives are hurting the cause...

Let's not forget -

Tom DeLay: under indictment
Bill Frist: under investigation for insider trading

OK, that is 3 republicans - Add the two crooks from congress and you get 5. That is hardly what I would consider as the whole party being on the ropes.

With the exception of some die hards, most republicans will tell you that Bush isn't doing a great job.

Ohio, I have no idea.

Peoples Republic of California.... He is an actor with zero political experience. Yes, I know, so was Ronnie. That said, I expect history to record Ronnie as perhaps one of the greatest presidents in our history.

Here, I'll even throw you a bone. Carter will probably go down as one of the worst presidents in US history, but probably one of the best statesman of the 20th century.

I have to concur.

If the republicans are on the ropes...it isn't the democrats who put them there. The democratic leadership isn't in the ring, the stadium, or even the same sport. They are out there somewhere doing god-knows-what.

They embarrass me.

I'm going back to voting Libertarian.

Tech,

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME OF WHAT YOU ARE SMOKING!!! You and reality are not connecting when it comes to Republicans and on the ropes. Its funny that you forget to mention Pelosi and her being in more brown material over her illegal expenses!!

Give it a break, you are only making yourself look worse!

you forgot Mr. Libby - Cheney's lap dog.

How about Karl Rove?

wilke3169 10-04-2005 06:24 AM

The sad part of this is that in the last 25 years the democrats havent had a presidential candidate who could win with one exception and I believe he was impeached. I may just side with the majority next election and not vote.

Just a matter of time before that one gets caught - getting close on the Plame game.

Interesting thinking/commentary in this article:

This thread is a great example of the problem facing the Democratic Party...or any party for that matter. No message, no solution, no alternative being offered. Just hope that highlighting the faults and weaknesses of a few will create a turn around for any opposing party will result in nothing. Nothing. That is the message of the Democratic party.

I agree, there is a problem with the system.

Very true. This is national issue facing the republican party as well. As witnessed by our last Presidential election. Party lines were, and continue to be, blurred. We have elected officials that stand for nothing, on both sides of the aisle. They stand for a sound bite and a photo op.

LOL.

Lots of spin, and even attacks on the messenger. Not one cogent defense...

I2 posts and the "left-leaning media" still hasn't been blamed, and Clinton hasn't been invoked. Mul?

legion 10-04-2005 07:49 AM

Mr. Pot, the kettle is calling. Shall I put him through?

Its been going on a lot longer than the Clinton admin.

Even the Democrats admit that they do not have a plan. Its sad when you keep clinging to a organization with a complete idiot like Howard Dean as a leader and know you do not have a chance until someone who knows what they are doing comes along.

Attacks on the messenger? Well, when the messenger keeps putting out drivel like this we start to wonder what he has been smoking. Tech, we aint anywhere near being "on the ropes" while the other party has been tied up in the ropes for a long time.

Please stop attacking the Repubs, get to work in politics and save your party. It would be a lot more productive than posting here...

PS You still have not mentioned Pelosi? Volunteer on her accounting team, they really need help, and some legal advise as well I get the feeling.

Just as soon as we're done with Delay, Frist, et al.. :)

techweenie 10-04-2005 10:39 AM

Hmmm. It's "drivel" if I post facts about polls, but what is it if people make a completly veiled reference to Pelosi? What's below drivel?

You see, the thing about rules is that they have to work both ways. The 'righties' here seem to often answer substance with emotion.

Oh, come on, we can do both sides at once! Lets mix them all up a bit and see what shakes out!

Tech, show me the fact where it shows that the Repubs are on the ropes, please! A poll with someone's idea of who is ahead or behind on one week or another is not going to hack it. Who has been ahead in the last several sets of elections then tell us about who is on the ropes now.

Truth is way above drivel...
