Internet Explorer History

I use Internet Explorer version 6 as my browser. I visited a tech page about 5 days ago and want to get back to it. I deleted the "History" and can no longer go back to find it. I checked in the cookies folder and cannot find it either.

Can I somehow recover or un-delete my HISTORY folder.

Thanks, David

Any chance you did a backup since the last visit? Otherwise you are probably done for.

I found the site. No backup. Thanks, David

I have a laptop both at work and on the boat. I find that clearing the history on only one at a time saves me regularly. As does backups.

^ What he said.

I have a Mac, and I still use Firefox for it, even though there's no advantage in terms of viruses, spyware, etc. It's simply a well engineered piece of software. If you could buy it in stores, I would...it's that good.

There are a ton of low level data recovery tools available these days that cost less than $50 dollars. Here is a link to Diskeepers undelete offering for $30. The days of $3000. data recovery jobs performed by DriveSavers or the like are reserved for damaged drives only these days.

You could try a "system restore" to a date previous to when you cleared the history. Does your computer have "system restore"?

A tedious way to find that website would be to click Start and do a search for that website (file) using search terms. This search may find a lot of files with those search terms, which can make finding the exact file quite time-consuming.
