Reload ... been doing that for way too long to consider any other alternatives .. I use 100 rounds per day (.45 or 38 Super)

Jordi, how much does it cost to reload? Initial equipment to get started, and per-round?

The ultimate in cheap is reloading and casting your own bullets. I get free wheelweights from tire shops by leaving them a three gallon bucket with my name on it. Once a month or so I stop by and get some one to help me lift it into the car. I shoot for the cost of primers, powder, and home made bullet lube. I can shoot .45 ACP, .44 mag, .45 Colt, and others about as cheap as most can shoot their .22's. It all depends on how much time and effort you want to put into this. If none of this interests you, hit some of the local gun shows and buy the surplus stuff.

Are there any specific recommendations from those more experienced with 45's. I have been a 9mm guy for a long time.
Thanks.

Sea, great choice, its been one of my favourite handguns for years.

What are you going to do with the gun? For home defence my favourite load was the first one in the pipe was bird or snake shot. This way if it was just some local idiot or lost family friend trying to break in to play a prank, the shot would not kill him/her. The rest were always hollow points, because after the first shot they were dead meat if they are inside my house.

Other than that I wish you guys would get serious! Get a Dillion 550 or 650 and reload these puppies. It works very well, is good therapy in the winter and cuts your costs in half.

These reloaders are guaranteed for life and Mike Dillon will overhaul them for free if needed, no matter how young or old they are.

Just go to Wal-Mart. I get all my target ammo there.
