Help me- Need good pair of Binoculars
I need to buy a present for a good friend who attends sporting events (mostly football games) with me. I want to find the best Binoculars that are small/compact that can be easily carried to the sporting events in a bag or small case. These are for outside if that matters. I would like to buy them on-line if that is possible. Thank you for your help.

anything more than 7mm as an exit size is wasted. you pupils are no bigger than that, so 10 or 12 mm exits are wasted glass. Good compact binocs are like Tasco. Good stuff and if you lose them ...so what. The higher the mag the shakier they are too so don't go too high on power.

I just bought an Olympus 8 x 40 set for $44. They're solid, medium power.

For football? Bushnell T-tra Wide. 900 foot field of vision at 1000 feet. No other glasses that I'm aware of designed just for football. You can see half the field at once. They are great.

Picked up a pair of Zeiss years ago and the quality and clarity is unbelievable. Some of the Japanese optics come close but its hard to beat German optics.

i dont like the compact glass. not comfortable for extended viewing. with roof prism binos, you get a bit of both. i have pentax roof prisms in 10x that i can stare through all day. i pull them out at the ballet, and i can see the ballerina's............
i paid $350. Zeiss or Leica's are my next ones, but that is when i am old, gray, and richer. |
Leupold gold rings...not cheap
