Smile Charlie is back home with his new suspension!

My little buddy is back home from the hospital, still somewhat loopy from the drugs.

(previous post) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=250831&highlight=dog

He had the surgery yesterday, and spent the night and most of the day at the hospital. He actually was in pretty good spirits for having a bone sawed and reset...He should be ready to "tear it up" again, come Spring.

So did you go with Sway-A-Way or Sanders? Hollow or solid?

Looks like he's just glad to be rid of that damn head bell thing.

I haven't put the bell thing on. I think it's demeaning to dogs to wear these. Actually, as long as I'm with him I can make sure he leaves the incision alone. It really sucks to see him move around though.

Good going Charlie! Glad to see the ol fella is mending.

Ed, go out and get him a great big soup bone to gnaw on, that will keep his mind off of those stitches.

Ed,
Charlie looks like a great dog. Worth every cent and more. Get well soon, both of you.

My old Malamute had a "suspension change" like that. He tangled with a Caddy and of course the Caddy won. He survived this one then tried it again and was not so lucky. Miss that pup a lot...

Glad to see him doing well, and before long he will be chasing some of those things you keep finding around your house.

Yup, 3 months he will be good (better) than new. What amazed me is how long it took the hair to grow back.

Always good to have a good friend on the mend and doing fine.
Yes don't let the other dogs tease with that bad hair cut.

Just don't rush him. They start acting normal before they are really ready. They can break a leg easily before it's fully healed and you do not want that.

Glad to see he is home and doing well.

Is your wife dealing with it better now?

Cheers,
Scott

Glad to hear all went well. So did you go with the Bilstiens or opt for the KYB's?

NO, I'm making him go real slow. His mental attitude is back, but no squirrel chasing for a few months. I sent my wife a couple of pics, as she's working in Chicago, and she called me in tears. I thought I was showing he has doing OK, but it freaker her out. The good news is, she's gone til Sunday night, so every day he'll be a little better.
