U.N. climate conference

There were some hope that, after Katrina, the US government would be more interested in global warming but I think we will have to wait another 3 years. Lets see what Clinton have to say:

There will be more interest from everyone when the proposed solutions don't all involve major concessions from developed countries and a free hand for developing countries. When the developing countries volunteer to cut back their rapid growth in favor of reducing global warming, we should happily follow suit.

Bottom line is its a bad deal. No amount of cajoling and guilt should make us buy in as long as the terms go directly counter to our economic interests.

I won't even get started on the patchwork "proof" of global warming. My above statement assumes there a) is global warming and b) emissions controls would reverse it, both of which are far from certain.

I wonder why you economy is so weak ?

On a plus note, I found that more than 195 American cities already signed and that the new trend is to have big internationals companies sign it on a worldwide base.

"Former U.S. President Bill Clinton told a global audience of diplomats, environmentalists and others on Friday that the Bush administration is "flat wrong""

Is it me, or is this guy not living in a 6 bedroom mansion in Chappaqa, NY?

I did not see him trading down from the limo either.. As a former President, he is not supposed to be making these cheap shots.

Excuse me..but what does Katrina have to do with Global Warming?

Scientists have found evidence (core samples of earth in the Gulf region) that Hurricane activity is on a 500 year cycle...and North America is coming off a 500 year period of little activity...

Those are probably the same scientists that were telling us that the Sun was turning around the Earth.
