I'll be gone for a while. Merry Christmas, Pelicans!

I'm having surgery in the morning. I have torn cartilage in my shoulder. It's been a year with no improvement, so it's time for knives, drills and bone screws. One of my dearest friends will be doing the surgery. I know I'm in good hands. I can't eat or drink after midnight, so I think I'll have some eggnog with a little brandy now.

Anyway, surgery is a 7 AM and I'll likely be away for a few weeks. Merry Christmas to all my Pelican friends!

Merry Christmas to you Moses...May the Lord see you through the surgery, guide the hands of your ortho, and grant you a speedy recovery...May blessings follow you and yours from here into eternity. May you be granted wisdom, love and the gift of healing until you draw your last breath and finally be reunited with your Creator.

Happy Hannukah and a Merry Christmas!

Hope all goes well. I had my cartilage stiched up in my right knee. Was an inconvinence for a couple of months, but things have been good since.

You´ll be all right. Merry Christmas !

I have had a few minor surgeries myself. Not sure it helps being a doctor in terms of being a "good" patient. I turned out a real wimp I´m afraid..

Good luck, Mo
I've been there. A young Doc tightened the tendons in my right shoulder limiting it's rotation. It had popped out 5 times after an accident in the snow (Just remembered, good friends reset it twice) It worked too. Between the surgery and a metal adjustment I haven't had a problem in 26 years.
You'll be down for awhile with rehab and all.

Good Luck

Ye gad how depressing. The man is going in for a torn cartilage not open heart surgery.

All the best Moses - have a similar injury and probably need to go in some day for something similar. I can however do neat party tricks with a straight jacket......
