They didn't notice that you turned in samples from seven different guys?

Wow, this brings back memories. OK, here goes....

I remember them sliding a metal plate under my a$$. When I asked what this was for, he said "to ground you"... uh oh.

And yes, if they use the metal caps on the vas, they will cauterize them with electricity. I was drugged out on a big valium in advance, and I started laughing uncontrollably when they did this. When he stopped to ask me what was so funny, I said "HEH! You're welding my balls!"

Not to be a pu$$, but let me tell you, the anesthetic shot in the balls is incredibly painful. Like getting kicked by a horse and having the pain sit for 60+ seconds. Once that's done, it's all pretty so-so, and I had a pretty funny drugged out conversation with my urologist. He told me to come back in 25 years when I needed my prostate out, he does great work

I was unfortunate enough to suffer two infections due to this operation. This also hurt, fever, nausea, etc. I would not rush it, you'll be doing the "vasectomy shuffle" for a while, which is a term my wife coined after having me glide around the house in my slippers for a week or two.

You will get "balls the size of grapefruits" if you fail to heed the "take it easy and do not test the plumbing advice"
Otherwise, a walk ops shuffle in the park.

Hey David, in 25 years your uro will be what, 65-70 years old? If you're lucky he might still be able to distinquish your balls from your prostate.

Piece of cake!!

They told me to hold on taking the Valium and Perkoset until I got there. Well, it was a quiet morning there and the pills had not kicked in until well after the procedure started.

I felt a pinch from the neddle on each nut and that was it. Once I felt him pulling at me when he was stitching me shut. Otherwise it was easy.

We talked cars the whole time. The doc bought his 15 y/o son a 3rd Gen RX-7 and was pickng my brain about it. We are getting together Sunday so I can see his car and give him and his son a ride in mine.

I have been painkiller free for about 4 hours now and I feel fine. If I had to rate the pain based on other painful events it would be like this:

Kidney stone - 10
Bulging disk in back - 7
Vasectomy and pain afterwards - 3

The nice thing is the perkosets I am rather enjoying them moreso for the break in pain from my back more than anything.

I plan on taking one with a couple of rum and cokes in a little bit.

If anyone is hesitent about this do not worry its nothing. I would do this once a week if I could trade my back pain for it.

Jim;

Congrats.

I am sitting here, legs crossed, hollow pit feeling down there.

Glad it went well. Right now, your wife is thinking of all the opportunities she won't have to miss ever again.

Plan on a very 'special' Valentines Day.

With a high close to 60 tomarrow, I see a Dragon run in my near future.

Anyone in the area & up for a run?

I will be up there in about 2-3 weeks. We were up there for 1 day last weekend and installed the wood flooring on the living room. We are coming back to finish the house. I will call you when we are sure of the weekend.

I cannot wait to get the P-car up there.

3 day update, my balls fell off!!

Joking. Actually I went to the gym this morning and worked chest and triceps with my brother. Back to normal activity in 3 days.

I took the advice on here and took it real easy Friday and Saturday then workind on a couple of honey do's around the house on Sunday and back to doing whatever I want today.

If I had known this was so easy I would have done it years ago. I just did not want to be knocked off my feet for weeks on end. I had a couple of friends swear it took them a month to get back to normal. That is what kept me away from doing it.

I do not know if my chronic back pain masks the pain of the procedure or not, its the only reason I can find for my tolerance for pain. Living with it 24 hours a day kind of numbs you over time.

When I first saw it the first thing I thought of was he wrecked his car. I can be a little slow on the uptake now and then.
