4 crawfish rated!
 

We just got the newest edition of the local entertainment newspaper and there it was... a food critic has been to my girlfriend's little cafe and had written a review. we were rated 4 crawfish (out of 5).. The guy is a lawyer and writes the food column for Gumbo magazine. It might not mean much to most people, but damn my girlfriend was excited. Guess I'll have to take a ride to the local frame shop now to have it framed. He's been here to eat 3 times but he didn't mention anything until the last time he came. He did use some detailed and pretty descriptions to describe the food I am getting tired of eating every day. now what to do with the pile of Gumbo newspapers my g/f has stacked everywhere? lol..

The scene from Spanglish popped into my head when Adam Sandlers characters Restaurant got 5 stars and he was really upset because he knew the place would become a zoo.

Very good! I was in NO and Shreveport last week and going back to south of NO in Stevensville (sp?) week after next. The local food is great.

I really need to go down there and try some of that food out. Congrats John.

Hugh, there was a guy in here last night from a film crew. He's been in NO for a while then will be here for 5 weeks. Filming a documentary about Katrina I believe. 200 person crew. Is this part of your people? Stephensville is just a few miles away from our cafe. I know many people there and at the very least, someone that knows the rest. let me know if you need anything. I can find just about anything. I'll buy you a meal if you want to come to the cafe. Got some fresh moonshine and a bottle of Absinth I haven't tried yet we can open. I hear you guys are going to blow up the old store (T-Man's) on the water there. I want to watch.

Incidently NPR is having its 2nd Grand Bayou race for the year on Feb 12th. All if not most of our PCA member will be at Sebring.

The wine shop is Le Bon Vin and the cafe is Le Bon Cafe, operated out of the same building. We're in Morgan City at 912 Seventh St. About 2 or 3 blocks from Hwy 70. If you guys ever want to have a meeting here, we'd be happy to accomodate. We had the power boat association meeting here last night. They are planning more power boat races this summer, if the damn FEMA trailers the city has planned to move to the park won't interfere. No one's happy about that! The last thing we need in this small town is 400 unemployed, out of town hood rats moving in.
