Has Your Kid Ever Walked In On You?

So Sunday is our cleaning day at our home - after my little girl and I make the donut run in the Targa, and my wife and son fill there faces we all get cracking at total house cleaning.

Well last Sunday most of the house was done by noon time and the kids were watching Tom & Jerry in the up-stairs media room. I happen to be vacuuming our bedroom downstairs when my wife walks in, shuts the bedroom door and locks it. I stop the Dysen and look at her. She stares at me as she closes the blinds and proceeds.

"But honey it's almost lunch time, what about the kids?"

"They have the TV, in the mood for a happy meal?"

Well several minutes into some furious action my boy comes down stairs and trys to open the door. We didn't hear him. Now he is an industrial lil bugger and manages to open the door. As the door opens I grab the quilt on the bed and roll my wife and I up in it - both of us panting and still engaged (in the biblical sense).

"Why you guys wrasl'n with the door locked?"

"Whats up Max? What do you need?" I ask as calm as possible.

"The TV is not working right and I got some screen on it that I can't fix and Emma messed with the sound and I think the DVD player isn't working or something and why are you guys all wrapped up?"

"You messed with the buttons didn't ya?" I asked. Just then Lisa whispers in my ear "Your mess'n with mine!"

"Dad...I just wanted to see if I could zoom in on Toms head...why are your clothes on the ground?"

"Max, go up and see what Emma is doing and I will be right there."

By the time I got back down stairs my lady was in the shower and didn't want company. When I protested, she said "Mike, turn around please" and low and behold was my 3 year old girl looking up at us smiling with a face full of chocolet glazed donut."

"Daddy, I want to take a shower wit mommy. Ya take one wit bubba"

Not what I had in mind...oh well.

Never happened to me, but if it did, I'd have to wonder:

"Where the heck did these kids come from?"

Yup, several times (including twice last weekend) in fact.

Kind of kills the 'mood', doesn't it?

Damm kids.

I'd imagine that it's had to happen at least once to every one of us who are parents. I know it's happened to me. Nothing you can do other than what you did, cover up and change the topic. Kids at that age really have no concept of whats actually happening anyway. No need to make a big deal out of it I think.

Mr_Wizard 02-14-2006 12:34 PM

No kids, but nothing ruins the mood better than my 115 pound lab jumping on the bed while my wife and I are in the middle of doin our thing.

M.D. Holloway 02-14-2006 12:37 PM

That was my 4000 post as well...I need a life...

Jeff Higgins 02-14-2006 12:40 PM

It's worse when they are about 17...

BlueSkyJaunte 02-14-2006 12:40 PM

My parents wouldn't even close the door. :(

When in highschool my wife used to hear her parents going at it with hammer and tongs in the next room. She developed a habit of taking a bottle of wine to bed with her...

Sometimes, I get the feeling I'm being watched. I open my eyes to see my cat laying on the bed, staring at me, 6 inches from my face...

I don't have any kids, but a MILF (or two) I was with had one walk in on us once. Pretty awkward.

M.D. Holloway 02-14-2006 01:16 PM

Two at the same time? Man, talk about desparate house wives!!!

Rick Lee 02-14-2006 01:22 PM

No, unfortuately not. Separate MILF's, separate incidents.

M.D. Holloway 02-14-2006 01:25 PM

30+ and divorced w/kids is a power demographic that most single men ignore. Shame, plenty o fine womenz that long for a man that is either taken by a wife or be'n played by a 20+.
