Angry theives stole my stuff

They stole my welder and all my mechanic's hand tools.

Didn't make my day.

I don't understand what goes through somebody's head that makes them think that taking what is not there's OK?
Same with people who rape and kill.

Ditto.

We've been burgled twice this past year despite increasingly elaborate security measures. Lot's of stuff gone each time.

It's an endemic problem in these parts. The perps are almost always kids looking for money to support their crystal meth or crack cocaine habits. The police are helpless because local legislation makes it virtually impossible to convict anyone for this kind of thing unless they are over 18 years old. Because no one will prosecute them, the police have no motivation to arrest these kids or even come to your assistance. Sad state of affairs.

I know why people steal.

Selfish, lazy, stupid, ignorant, drug addicts, it goes on and on.

This is a minor problem.
Here's the deal, the authories can not do a thing to solve even these minor problems.

People will debate every topic from every political angle.
History shows that man has not been able to solve ANY problems for any length of time. Why is that?

Is ther a government that will bring lasting universal peace or will mankind just spiral downward to self destruction?

Learn from this. Take videos or photos of everything in your house from time to time. Keep the copies in various places.

Then get some sort of home insurance that will give you basic cover.

We have had two house broken into recently in my area. Just in the middle of putting up more "motion sensor" lighting around my house.

my ex and her late husband did this (boy, what a mouthful)..i thought it odd at the time (they had more photo albums of their 'possessions' than of each other..lol), but i can see the value in it after being cleaned out..

i have watched a couple documentaries in the last few weeks on meth, one with al roker, and another on A&E or discovery. they showed stats on how the crime rates have risen in the areas as meth has moved in. unbelievable.

they both said that the federal government is not doing enough currently to combat it because its a west coast/mid west thing now. both shows predicted that it will be moving east and hitting the eastern seaboard hard in the next few years.

one of the shows had a former DEA policy guy on and he said that they could have killed this epidemic along time ago by restricting the chemicals. specifically the one or two they get from the cold medicine, but the pharmaceutical companies have too big a lobby to get anything done on it.

get a dog, a big mean dog, and a safe.

sorry to hear trek, we will get you mind off things friday!

Western North Carolina is having problems as well. They just put some of the over the counter drugs used to make it behind the counter. You need to give name and address to buy it now.

thing is there are only like 9 factories in the world that make the stuff (ephedrine and sudophedrine?) and from what the DEA guy said is the big cooker's set up fake businesses and get the stuff wholesale due to the lack of regulations. from what they said the feds are slow in getting those loopholes closed up, even to this day.

Meth was a HUGE problem when I lived in Portland last year. Responsible for the skyrocketing increase in home burglaries. Portland PD hadn't investigated a case in about 2 years due to lack of detectives, according to the Oregonian. A very sad thing--people just spiral the toilet once they get started. And it's not as if you can't see this (and meth heads) coming from a mile away. There's a very distinctive look to people on it. Now I'm living in Boston, and meth addiction is still a pretty rare entity, in comparison.

Sorry for your loss--theivery sucks from the material perspective, and the sense of violation is pretty frustrating, too.

Toby, thanks. Friday will be very good.
I think we'll be running in intermediate run group together.

I didn't mention. The wicked thieves tried to get into my house , too.

There are hand prints where they tried to slide the widows open. Sheriff couldn't get any prints.

CSI is a joke. Those guys are getting prints off jello what's up?

Thieves smashed the window on my station wagon and stole an almost brand new worm drive saw in its case tonight right in front of my apt. It is particularly aggravating when they steal tools that you make your living with and then pawn or sell them for peanuts, I assume.

Just put up new motion sensor floods in the front. Dogs in the back. I have a killer wife and poodle in the house.

Beware: thieves are bending the top of garage doors down and pulling the emergency latch on electric door openers with a rod to gain entry.

Trekkor,

This truly sucks, sorry to hear about that

And pissed for you! We got robbed a few years ago by the world's most stupid crook. They took an old VCR that barely worked, and old backpack and a bunch of my wife's clothes (leather jacket etc.). Oh yeah and some $2 bills.

here's what they left:

Fender Strat and several amps in the corner of the room where they broke in, full surround sound system, 500 CDs, $200 cash, the list goes on.

Whatever, F them!

Trekkor, looking forward to seeing you on Friday!!

-Chris

We're going to have a blast. No doubt!

Are you going to Zone a/x 1 or 2?
I'm doing both.

Being a liberal I do not believe in shooting thieves dead in front of your house, but a shot to the kneecaps is acceptable.
