Watch wanted.....

Since there are a few people here who really seem to know their watches, I will see if somebody can help me out.

The following is a 50's era Timex, childrens Snow White watch. It was available with either the band pictured, or with a leather band.

I am looking for one as a gift for my mother. The one she had since she was a child was stolen during a break-in about 11 years ago, and it was very sentimental to her.

I know that a replacement just won't be the same as the original, but I would still like to find one for her. Her watch had a red leather band.

Looks lke they show up on Ebay. The last one with leather band sold for $1.99.

What was the auction number?

Everything I see on ebay is repro, reissue, etc. I'm only interested in an authentic 50's issue.

There is a watch of roughly the correct era on there now, but it is a Cinderella watch that is incorrectly advertised as a Snow White.

There is one on Ebay....@ $199.00 Item #8910719743 Not running with some scratches. Quite the spread.

Ended auction shows:

8922454517 $25.00 Good running condition

6617941883 $11.50 Not running VG condition

Saw another decent condition not running for $1.99...cant find now.

I'd hang out for a little while on Ebay and wait for one to come up. Might have to have it gone over by a jewler but it'll be worth it for mom.

Thanks for the help. I'll keep an eye out on ebay and maybe "the right one" will come up.

be careful about non running. alot of watch repairman won't go near them. they are pretty crude inside the case and usually have very little or no jewels. i like working on them but usually requires a complete overhaul which can be the same money as a higher dollar watch. get a good runner to start with . you'll still need something done to it down the road but atleast you'll know it's complete.
best of luck in your search
