I would guess '78 or '79. As much as I hate anything and everything built by the big 3 nowadays, when I was a youngster, our neighbors had a red Ford 4x4 just like this one and I lusted over that truck for years.

Seeing this almost makes me want to find one to restore.... What the he11 is wrong with me!?!?

That Ford reminds of some of the original Big Foots.

Two of my best friends in HS bought a new '76 or '77 F-150 4x4 when we were 18 and lifted it w/ big mud tires just like that. It was a twin to that truck except it was black. They used it for work, (one of their Dads was in the cement business), and even though they were making big $$$ for teenagers at the time, the truck was bankrupting them at the gas pump.

I so specifically remember it, gas was probably about the same as now in adjusted dollars in the '70s.

Didn't mean to be a buzz-kill, it's a pretty truck. It just really brought back memories. I wish I could find the pictures of us playing in the mud w/ it in the infield of the old Donnybrook raceway during a CanAm or TransAm race in the summer of '77.

Hey, speaking of UFC, one of my good friends worked on an infomercial all day w/ Tank Abbot. He is producing it or something, he basically hung out w/ the guy all day and they filmed him. He called me about dinner time in stitches describing the day, first the boxing gym then the treadmill, etc.., then to the sports club for some weights. He wanted me to guess how much Tank could bench, I said I dunno, maybe 400?

Before he made me guess, he told me that the guy is in "terrible shape", I guess he just meant fat. The answer?

(drumroll)............,

495 freaking pounds, and he did it 3 fooking times!!

Then he asks me, "is that pretty good?".......

Pththt. 'taint nothing' I use to live next door to Bob Sapp

At the time, he was benching 585 pounds.
Bob is a HUGE man. And nice as hell, too.

I read the link, he is "the beast" for chrisakes.

Then I followed the link to the guy who kicked his ass, and then to the guy who kicked his ass. etc....

It's mindblowing how tough a human being can be; these guys could literally rip me limb-from-limb in seconds, and I'm definitely in the top 10% of two-legged humans worldwide. Better mind my manners.

I think the impressive thing about Tank was that he had like 8 double vodkas for breakfast today before the bench press......

Yeah..it'd scare the hell out of me to meet someone capable of kicking Bob's ass. Bob is one of the biggest people I've ve seen up close, but I don't think he's particularly quick which was probably why he got kicked. I've seen a few of Bob's fights, but don't recall if he lost any that I saw or not. But what I saw was..frightening...

According to his bio, he employs a fighting style known as "the bullrush", where he basically runs at you swinging and kicking. He could probably scare a rhinoceros half to death with that schit and win by default.

The guy who beat him is a 6'3" 230 lb. Brazilian Ju Jitso dude, so he most likely got ahold of an arm, put a submission hold on and big-boy tapped out as fast as he could get the other hand to the canvas.

My cousin used to work in Texas as a roughneck on an oil rig team. He used to say that no matter how big and bad you are, there is always a guy that is just a little bigger, just a little badder, and willing to prove it.

You're never the baddest hombre, and you've never got the fastest car. Someone somewhere will always eventually show up to knock you off of the top of the pile.

That's the way of the world!

And Jim, your boy looks scrappy. That's the worst kind, as they say.
