Thomas the Train Pics Finally!

We went to Thomas the Train last weekend in Greenfield Village. I was a beautiful day and my son LOVED it. He didn't want to go. It wasn't very crowded at all. We sat on the back of the train and had PLENTY of room. There were lots of seats avail on our car. Here are some pics that some of you were asking to see:
My son with some of his favorite trains:

Misc Greefield pic:

Round House and Sir Toppen Hat:

Of Course Thomas. The eyes actually moved. Pretty neat:

My son playing with the trains in the gift shop:

Train display was really cool. They had buttons you could press to make things change, move, light up, etc...

Gotta stop for Ice Cream:

My daughter was having fun too:

Until we got on the train:

We have a train in my town that runs on weekends, and Thomas comes out about 3 times a year. The attendance usually triples for Thomas, He's one money making machine! We also have a steam engine that they run during festivals and holidays, when the Engineer blows that steam whistle the kids just about ***** a brick.

That is AWESOME!!!

I grew up in the Detroit area (Ann Arbor), and loved going to Greenfield Village and the Ford Museum. They are a national treasure, one that most folks don't know about. If you are a mechanically minded person, the Museum is just awesome. How many museums have 8 (maybe more?) steam locomotives under one roof?

Very nostaligic here.....laugh if you want, but seeing pictures above brought a tear to my eye.....some very fond memorys from childhood....

Thank you for sharing.

Bill,
Cute kids! Looks like you had fun. Greenfield Village is a great place to spend the day.

My 3 year old just discovered Thomas and he is hook line and sinker now. In fact he is playing with a Thomas train set as I type this.

Man, I wish we could have gone that day!
My son loves trains although we got him a Thomas engine and he doesn't even play with it. He likes to play with the 1/18 scale GT3 and Corvair I gave him. (Seriously. It's strange.)
I really dug climbing all over the trains at GFV when we went on school trips.

Wayne - My wife is talking about going next year. Maybe we could coordinate a day so we could all hang out together. It really was a lot of fun! My son, for some reason (he gets it from his mother), I don't know where he gets it but he does NOT like the carousel. AT ALL! Those activity tents weren't really that great IMO. My son liked them. So by being somewhere where there was something else to see and do it made the day a ton better.

That sounds like a great idea. My daughter will be older as well which will be a bit easier for us.

My 2 year old son would be in heaven. He loves anything Thomas, though he has an attraction to most things mechanical. Right now he's on a big tractor and truck kick. Other big hits are airplanes, and WRC movies via Google video.
