Reccommedations for a hand-held PC?
Looking to buy a hand held PC that will run windows operations. Any suggestions on brands/models?
Thanks.

Sorry. No phone capabilities needed. Something along the lines of an IPAQ, or comparable.

Sorry, Can't help. Seems like HP and Dell are on top.

Run Windows Mobile (used to be called Windows CE) or Windows XP?
For Mobile, most people I know with these things (sometimes called PocketPCs) have H-Ps. For Windows XP, not much choice yet. Google "OQO" for one.

Leave windows out of it and get a Nokia 770. I've had one for a few weeks, love it. Helps that it runs Debian Linux, same as my mac and pcs.

I've never had a handheld that I liked (and I've had 3 Windows-based and 2 Palm-based).
They all suck in one way or another. ![]() Seriously, what excuse do manufacturers have for a handheld that CRASHES? "Hold on, I need to check my calendar but I have to reboot first."

I have an IPAQ and the damned thing freezes constantly. Nothing suggested by HP or any of the forums helped. Battery and charge life is also dismal. Very disappointing.

I have an older HP iPaq with Windows Mobile 2002 and overall it's been more of a PITA than anything. It recently decided to stop connecting with my laptop via USP to sync with Outlook, so is essentially a boat anchor now. I have a tiny cellphone with basic email functionality and almost always have a full-sized notebook with me anyway.

I have a Dell Axim A30 that has been great. I wish I had bought the 50 though. I have had it for over a year now, maybe close to 2 years. My next one will probably still be a Dell.
