Do not be afraid to take on those who ask for it. The odds are she won't understand the letter anyway.

Oop. Never mind. Forget I said anything. Nothing to see here. Move along. . . Edit: I hope you know I'm kidding. Just think next year - high school. Kiss whatever non-grey hairs you have goodbye worrying about stuff like that. |
Any word back from the teacher??
|
Most Teachers that I know hate the politics and bureaucracy that NCLB and School Boards put them through. I would almost bet ($500 in a social experiment) that the Teacher actually gets a kick out of the note and may even post it in the Teachers Lounge. This is the stuff that actually brings them back for more.

The response;
Mr. Moses, I am pleased that you were so accomplished in the task of analyzing Anna’s report. Having reviewed the assignment, I can attest that both you and Anna were very successful. I hope that the “exercise” not only provided you with quality time for you and Anna, but also was evidence of Anna’s progress and achievement as a student, not only in science but throughout academically. You both are to be commended. Of course, I accept the score on the report and as for the extra credit... Well, we can consider it at the end of the semester. Enjoy. Ms. Smith |
Enjoy?
Like we said, I don't think she got it. |
nice reply, imo. she was complimentary of you both.

LOL that's definatley a classic! I'm saving this thread. Honestly, I thought you were too sarcastic because even for me it would be hard to determine if that was a serious or sarcastic note. Nice work though! The teacher's reply is great!! :eek: :D
|
That sounds like a canned response.
One for the parents that bothered to reply, one for those that did not |
I don't know, sounded pretty tailored to Moses' letter and at least polite.

to me, it sounds like the teacher was trying to be just as sarcastic...
"I hope that the “exercise” not only provided you with quality time for you and Anna, but also was evidence of Anna’s progress and achievement as a student, not only in science but throughout academically." Sounds like she was trying to say "this was the purpose of the exercise, you obviously didn't take it seriously, so I'm going to tell you what the outcome *should* have been.." or maybe even: "you obviously dont know or care enough about your daughter's academic career to review something simple as an assignment when given the chance to, so i'll take it on myself to tell you that she's doing great, not only here but in all classes..." or something to that effect... i dunno, maybe I'm reading too far between the lines... awesome letter on your part though! lol |
lol..this teacher's letter is going to be ultra-scrutinized for structure, grammar, spelling, content, sincerity..etc, etc. she's at the mercy of the pelican 'ot crowd'.. :D
