RoninLB 05-19-2006 10:41 PM

memexicoyousuck? Like that wasn't obvious or anything. . .

Jeff hit it on the head IMHO.

Course there have been a lot of very interesting posts by people who "just joined" and have less than 200 posts total, so my gut tells me that there is a lot of brown material flying around...

What do you call a guy (or girl) that uses several personas and plays the troll/liberal/neo-con/conservative role?

P-O-P, did you post that pic of the guy in the sombrero with the sign "no immigrants no burritos" or something very similar to that?
If you did and still have it handy could you post it here? I want to get a copy of it... I though it was hilarious.

Do people sometimes use the troll moniker to dismiss another person's postings simply because they don't like what that person says?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_trolls

In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude or offensive messages designed to intentionally annoy and antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion as their only purpose (see Anonymous Internet posting).

I think that a better analogy is that we are a community, but not a closed community. We welcome new members at any time of all beliefs, generally speaking.

A troll is the web equivalent of some drunk in a bar that comes by your table when you are having a conversation with someone else and just starts throwing BS at you, non-sequiturs, baiting for a ass-kicking, etc...

Anyone who has ever put in time on earth knows what I am talking about.
