gchappel .....I understand if you're p*ssed off. You are in that 'business' and take offense at what I did. I understand.

I have been in the ER 5 times in my entire life. After the diasterous 4th time where I had a broken bone almost protruding from my lower leg, I was pissed; so I talked with my doc about it. He suggested it for my next visit (if ever)

I did what I did and I don't expect to win any votes here, just being honest.

In any case, to those of you being critical on this post, which is better, the person who fibs to get a jump in line, or the string of illegals waiting to get a crack at free healthcare. My money is on the one fibbing, because he's probably paying taxes to support the 'system', unlike those other friggen leaches.
I was passing on what a friend sent, I haven't been to an ER myself in 7 years (took the ***** from hell after she tripped & split her head open) Is wearing a hat or patch that says Boarder Patrol really a fib, I mean, you see plenty of people who aren't Jeff Gordon wearing JG shirts, and if it chases illegals out before they burden us anymore.

One big reason for the ER abuse is caused by our government that won't pay a private practioner $40 for and office visit but will pay much more for the same patient to visit the ER. With title 18 and 19 patients the ER cannot refuse them or they risk losing all federal reimbursements. This is just one of the reasons I walked away from the medical field after 35 years.

unless that meant delaying treatment of a true emergency...
Now that eludes to one pressing issue. The ER is NOT just for emergencies. Due to regulations, it's also become the place to obtain indigent care.

Is that wrong? I don’t know. One can argue that an untreated sore throat could lead to an epidemic. But the truth remains that near-death injuries wind up competing with the someone else’s false claim of “blood in the stool” just to confirm they have the flu.

just being honest.
That's an ironic statement...
