Latest Spider Kill

Our Son was out spraying Round-Up around the AC units and a big Black Widow popped out of her web to investigate. My Son sprayed her with some Round-Up but I think it just made her grouchy. I got out some up our chemical weaponry that my company makes and promptly shut her nervous system down in seconds. This is the first BW kill this summer. Last summer we had plenty with only 3 to show as salvageable specimens.

Here she is in a vile filled with rubbing alcohol. The 15mm socket for scale. Notice the tell tale red hourglass on her butt. Shes a beauty...

widders

Brake cleaner make a fast and convienient widow killer, of course the oxy acetylene torch makes em go snap crackle and pop.WD 40 works but is slower.

A guy here at work found one a couple weeks ago. He's been feeding it crickets every few days. The thing is getting HUGE. It looks like it's going to pop.

Friend sat down in the old outhouse to pinch a loaf, got bit under the seat, in the front, in a bad place. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.

My kids and I have been BW hunting for two weeks now. WD40 is great for slowing them down while I move in with the framing hammer. Twist in the web then crush...they don't stand a chance.

My neighbor, whose a big guy, was bit by a BW in the finger last year. He swears that if it happens again he'll just cut the finger off. Tremendous pain and 2 trips to the ER. Can't imagine what an adult BW bite would do to my 7 year old 65 lb daughter...

Here's the black widow a guy at work caught. He's had it about 6 weeks so I doubt it's pregnant. He keeps feeding it and it keeps getting bigger.

Lube,
You have the greatest widow to human ratio of anybody I have ever heard of. I would be lucky to see 1 every other year. And I find my size 12EE works faster than any spray on the market

When I was at scout camp a few years back, a nice sized female made a home in my tent... You dont bother her, she wont bother you.
