Being President ruins ones life (unless you're Billy) your privacy is gone and you can no longer live for yourself and your family. Money is of no concern to an ex-President (unless you're Billy). you're right Lendaddy , it's not about the money , it's a bout the power.

it's called beeing a power mongerer

it's the same reason why CEO's do not retire when they financially can afford to do so in good style

for one thing it's hard to let go of the reigns
for another thing they have nothing else in their life , retirement of the rat race is in many ways planning for the coffin, and i'm sure their wives do not want em at home all the time for the first time in 40 years

i fail to see their cravings for power as "charity"

fact of the matter is , anyone who actively wants a position with a job description where a signature can mean somebody dies or is ruined for life is basically a white collar psychopath...

You guys simply cannot imagine that a Conservative may actually do the things they do for the betterment of the country (or the world for that matter).......so you must assign comic book plots to their actions. I get it, it's just sad, not to m,mention intellectually lazy.
