Anyone else drink the tuna water?

I used to be ashamed, and steal little sips of it after securing the kitchen of any prying eyes. Now in my old age I've lost my inhibitions, and when I open a can of tuna, I tilt it back and drink the water inside.

It backfired once earlier this year when one of the "packed in vegetable oil" cans found its way into the grocery cart, and I took a slurp of that before noticing the different label.

Anyone else do this or am I alone in this fetish...

Man, it's like I've got a predisposition to eating unhealthy crap, even when I don't intend to do it. What's with the mercury, what the hell is it doing in my can of Star-Kist??

you're alone there

anyone know for sure which brand of tuna comes from Canada, so I can buy some? Was at a ballgame on the 4th, and one of those flying banners came by that said, "save seals, boycott canadian tuna." So I want to make sure I buy a bunch of it.

You're giving Cooterville a bad name, dtw! And for the record, the "tuna water" goes down the drain in our house.

Tuna and other long-lived, predatory ocean fish have lots of mercury, accumulated through years of eating other fish.

I don't worry about it but I don't eat tuna every day either. I would think twice before feeding my kids tuna daily.

Hmmm... Its always been reserved for my cat. She comes running when she hears me opening a can.

Great website;

http://www.gotmercury.org/

I weigh 215 pounds. I can only eat 6 ounces of tuna/week before my mercury levels hit the toxic range.

No levels reported for "tuna water", but I'll bet it ain't good.

Sorry. Think you are the only one. Until now the most disgusting thing involving tuna that I have seen was a recipe for a Tuna shake published in Flex Magazine.
