I disagree. The political wing of Hamas (if we can draw a distinction as they are heavily interconnected) had to have known that the military wing was digging a half-mile long tunnel 62 feet underground. Either that, or they are an incompetent government with no control over their constituents.

As well, all 80 or so of the Lebanese CNN (awful source, I know) interviewed at the Syrian-Lebanon border supported Hezbollah. The population supports these groups at least in name.

One thing that needs to be brought into the issue is that the Christians for the most part are not the ones fleeing the country. Its the Moslems who are afraid, and they should be as its their friends and family who are in Hezbollah and who Israel are killing.

Thus its no surprise that those at the border leaving the country support the Hezbollah. Try asking the rank and file INSIDE Lebanon, especially in the Christian areas if you want to know what is really going on.

Right now the Israeli government and people are fully united in the effort to rid themselves of Hezbollah. There's scarcely been a time in recent memory in which a larger majority of people in Israel held the same opinion on such an important question.

Is it any wonder that Hezbollah and Hamas want to be rid of the Likudist's in Israel?

Here's the map of the ongoing land thefts being forced on the Palestinians by Israel.

An enlargement of a portion of the above:

Note the large number of Israeli settlements, another word for land thefts, in the West Bank, all illegal.

Actually, there are large and vocal protests within Israel against the current actions. Where on earth do you get your information?!

There sure are, the maps I posted are from one of their web sites. Here in America, the Israeli lobby effectively prohibits publication of the views opposing the activities of the Likudites in Israel most of the time. The US congress cannot debate aid to Israel at all, yet opposition views are heard in the Knesset all the time.
