Where sleeping dogs lie.
Phoebe, the killer watch dog.

Beagle? I have two!
|
Yes, a Beagle.
|
How old is he/she? They are great dogs, if a bit quirky. Very gentle, great with kids. They are mischeivous... ours learned how to open the fridge.
Can you let yours off the leash, or does it run? Here are our beagles, asleep with Mrs Notfarnow: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1153334355.jpg |
Even the vigilant, killer watchdogs need downtime. Like 23.75 hours/day, to keep them extra-sharp for those 15 minutes of consciousness.

She's about 6 yrs. We always keep her on a leash because she does like to run and play.
This is our second one. We had to put one to sleep about 8 months ago at 11 years. Great all around dogs. I just took that picture and I have to give her credit, she heard another dog barking and ran out to see what was up. She's back now. Current on duty pic :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1153335350.jpg |
Sorry to break the beagle trend. My Dad raised beagles though....
Here is my new puppy. Two month old Lab and Husky mix. I need to get some pictures of his ice blue eyes. (13 inch tile for size reference) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1153335525.jpg |
We can't let ours run loose either, they catch a scent and they're GONE.
Keeping with the theme of sleeping dogs, here's Chance on the beach: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1153336008.jpg Chance is about 11 or 12. We rescued him 2 years ago... he weighed 11 pounds and had sores from being penned in a small cage. He's got the good life now though, he loves attention and wants nothing more than to lay down with someone for a nap. |
All animal pic's welcome. SmileWavy

Indy Jones - wire fox terrier is 11 years old, but doesn't know it. He has more energy than dogs 1/3 his age. Has had a nerve/disc issue of late affecting his hind quarters. Hopefully his meds will keep him healthy. He still runs and jumps much to moms (wife) dismay.

Phoebe, Does follow her nose a bit, But our other Beagle (Kacey) was the real scent hound. She was bred for rabbiting and would put her nose down and try to find a scent always. Just like you see good blood hounds do. Once she caught onto a scent she would start to yip and howl and want to chase what ever it was down.
Taking her for a walk was a challenge for this reason sometimes. |
HA! I know what you mean... Chance was a rabbit hunter before he was abandoned. He still chases rabbits in his sleep, puts on quite a show. One of these days I'd like to drop a rabbit into the dog pen, but Mrs Notfarnow is a bit of a PETA freak.

Couldn't find wifes dog. Went up stairs and found this. No it's not a staged picture. I must have woken her up when I fell on the floor laughing.
