Our Bill of Rights
JJust how much of our bill of rights is based on the Indian bill of rights? How much do you really know? The Iroquois bill of rights is very similar to ours, how much of ours is theirs?
The US bill of rights is unique from the European ones. George Washington, Jefferson, all the founders, had a common theme running throughout the constitution and bill of rights; it is unique and significantly different from any European form of government. There are underlying philosophical differences in the way our government was actually implemented from all the others. What is it? American Indians had a system of government that was very much like ours. I think ours is a copy of that system. How about it? There must be history buffs on this board, people that might have a real clue to what happened. All I have is my actual family history. The history goes back to 1625 in America. Very much involved with the Indian culture and specifically the science of farming. Other parts are more political, eg Capt John Underhill and the Pequot Wars. Despite the wars, the influence of Indian culture and farming practices is very significant in America today. Just how much to we really owe the American Indian? My suspician is that we owe our sucess to the Indians. Our entire form of government is a result of their system. That is the specific implementation, forgetting about the magna carter, is due to the influence of the indians. Without their influence we would have never suceeded as we have.
