I just signed up for digital cable phone service with Earthlink and will be up and running in a few days, they will be sending me the install kit and activate my service. The price is $24.95 a month for unlimited local and long distance within the US and Canada. Sounds like a good deal and still retains 911 service. So for you guys out there useing this type of service any issues or complaints? Supposedly if I stay a customer they guarantee that price for life.

I have a phone/internet/tv bundle via cable w/ Comcast. No complaints, phone hasn't gone out, it's only been 3 months though. The modem has a backup battery for power outages. Supposed to work w/ 911 though never tried.

I had digital phone through Charter, but went to a cell instead. There were two problems with it, for me. First, the caller ID is real flakey, and would only identify callers about 50% of the time. Second, it typically took two extra rings for the incoming call to even get to the house. Most people give up after 4, so I only heard two before I lost the call.
