Cool Super car in disguise?!

This builders van rocketed up the Goodwood Hill climb course during the festival of speed weekend. All the crap on the dashboard is actually glued down! Check out the Alloy wheels, so can you guess which late eighties/early ninties supercar donated most of its chassis and running gear?

Sweet Mary!! Look at the width of those rear tires!!

That is really funny, especially all the crap on the dash glued down. All the stuff on the roof is funny too.

I have no clue what is hiding under there but I am dying to know.

Some clues.

When the design study for the car was launched it was supposed to have a big V12 and four wheel drive, by the time it reached production it had a a twin turbo V6 producing 550bhp and rear wheel drive. It was breifly the fastest production car in the world (at 218mph) until the Mclaren F1 was launched. It was also made in the UK but the company is now owned by Ford.

Too cool, I love the dash treatment.

I saw a 220 at a dealer in Houston several years ago. Everyone was just standing around looking at it, so I walked up opened the door and got in, then got out crawled around on the floor and checked out the flat bottom with full tunnels in the back. All the non-racer Jaguar folks must of thought I was a nut as I got up off the floor and walked out of the showroom. Really cool car, but that engine did look small in such a large car.

This is possibly the best Q ship I've ever heard of!

Someone has already answered, but I looked at the long wheelbase, transmission tunnel, wheels, etc, and figured XJ220.

Years ago, I got to burn up a bunch of free gas at a track one day, courtesy of Porsche NA. They used to have a program for prospective customers that entailed a couple of semi's full of the latest product offerings that crossed the country, visiting track after track. You got to drive whatever car you had an interest in, which of course, was all of them. At the beginning of the day, they stuffed a bunch of us in a minivan, so we could get an idea of which way the track went. If I recall correctly, it was a Chrysler product with a fair bit of 928 stuffed underneath. It went around the track pretty well with 7 or 8 people in it.

Still the fasted van of all time. I think it has a very good time at the Nurburgring. It's the Renault Espace F1 built from an F1 car.
