NFL Tonight

Anybody else interested in how Culpepper is going to fair tonight? Being a Viking fan, (I know..) I am interested in seeing how his knee does. Saw some preseason of him and he looked a little tenative to me. I thought he was a good QB while he was here, and may still be, but is he going to take/ give a shot like did before the injury? Looks like Carson Palmer is healed up, but Daunte....Guess we will find out tonight!

Oh yeah. Can't wait. The city is already going crazy in anticipation. I will be there at 6, tailagte a bit and be seated by 8 for the video highlights from last season, and the terrible towel tribute to our deceased mayor, which is being led by his youngest son.

I think the Steelers will rally around Batch--and he played well in relief of Rothlisberger last year against the Pack and Brownies.

It will be interesting to see if C-Pepp can escape the pass rush--esp. from the outside. He was always a good scrambler and hard to bring down, this will be a real test for his reparied knee.

Title defense begins tonight!

The fact that this game is a pick-em is testament to the fact that no one expects much from the Steelers this year. Even Bettis says they blow.

Miami is a middle of the road team and Pitt isn't even favored at home????? Yea, Pitt is the new Baltimore fluke.

:D

The HDTV guy will be over between 12-5 for installation on the new big screen.
Batch was 2-0 as starter last year.
I'd take Pitts even up at home every week.

My Raiders are going to suck again this year. It's depressing watching good teams play. :(

pookie 09-07-2006 09:45 AM

So lendaddy you to feel that the Steelers are the new Buccaneers huh? Bunch of terrible years, win a super bowl and peter out? I love the Bucs by the way, great stadium to watch a game in, but I don't think the Steelers are going to repeat or make it to the playoffs.

I saw just a brief part of one Miami game, and even if Culpepper is healthy he doesn't have the go to receiver/playmaker of Randy Moss to throw to. And I can't stand Randy Moss, but he can catch a freaking football.

lendaddy 09-07-2006 09:50 AM

The season will tell the story, but yes they will not be a threat to repeat this year.....not even close. Check the vegas odds on them even going, not good, they were a fluke.

The fact that they are in a simple division helps a lot, they will get most of their wins there but still hover around .500-.600

Bank it:D

My Cowboys are goin to the Supa Bowl this year!!

Mark my words!!

pookie 09-07-2006 09:54 AM

I just hope they go without T.O. He = Loooooooooser. I am in no way a Cowboys fan but at least someone Parcel finally grew a set and put TO in his place, get out there and play or get out. Nice.

Go bucs - 20 of 21 returning starters on the No. 1 defense, that's all I have to say... Now if they can just muster some offense, well, never said that before the start of a season before ;)

As far as tonight - Pittsburgh has always been one of my favorites - even from the mean Joe Greene days...

I'm actually kinda pumped about the start of football season this year!

Every one of them a year older and a step slower. :D

lendaddy 09-07-2006 11:13 AM

I like the Bucs too, Simms could be a great one.

When their coaches aren't getting arrested for driving naked , they're probably gearing up to beat my half-inexperienced/half-over-the-hill Packers. :o

Bears, Bucks and the Saints interest me this year. I want to see how Reggie does. The Chargers could be interesting.

gprsh924 09-07-2006 11:35 AM

Da Bears

lendaddy 09-07-2006 11:41 AM

The Bears blow, terribly terribly over-rated team. Possibly THEE most over-rated team in the last 10 years. If they do better than .500 I'll eat my shorts.
