pwd72s is exactly correct. It's not how much you make it's how you spend it. I make a moderage salary and consider myself doing fairly well. Three nice cars paid for no other debt but my house, don't even have a credit card, and I'm only 30. It's all about money managment and living on less than you make, something not many can do, especially based on all the hooking credit cards seen to do all the time. By not having any "payments" each month I have plenty of money left at the end of the month.

Think of it this way...money paid in interest is money gone for nothing. It does nothing to benefit you, but it sure makes others happy. The joy of that new toy (like a car) fades...usually before the payments end. Financial happiness is not paying interest...and things get even happier when others pay interest to you.

LOL!!

On the Internet, everyone is fit, beautiful and rich.

Since many posters seem to have multiple sports cars, lavish lifestyles in expensive places, and lots of time for hobbies and travel....It seems that they would make more. Especially those who live in expensive places like CA.

I am not going to participate because w/ my low income this year it would skew the poll towards "ghetto", and we can't have that in Pelican land.

I might hold the record for high income in ratio to time, however. I once made $200k for 2 hours work. That loot is long gone. Adios!

Sorry, not even Jenna Jameson makes that kind of dough, unless she was blowing Clinton or something.

2 hours, what's that, the flight time from El Carrizo to El Centro?

Porsche-O-Phile 09-12-2006 08:31 AM

"Household" is second from the top - might get bumped into third from the top if I do well this year or take another job with better salary or get more seriously into investing (I'm pursuing a few leads. . .)

"Net worth" is solidly in the negative and will probably be there for the next 5-10 years (student loans suck).

pmajka 09-12-2006 08:34 AM

I seem to be in a minority, and my wife has a negative income. Man, if she would just get a good job, we could move up 1 bracket in the poll.

Rich76_911s 09-12-2006 08:58 AM

When I had a job I was in the first bracket, but not anywhere close to the break-off point.

Not everybody...I'll confess to being old, fugly, fat and out of shape....Rich? See my above posts regarding everything being relative. I have no money worries. Is that rich?

Moneyguy1 09-12-2006 09:56 AM

The internet is like Lake Wobegone where all the men are handsome, all the women beautiful and all the children above average.

Paul, you are a rich man - rich in wisdom, experience, admiration and personality (now, do I get dibs on your car when you die?). Just kidding...about the car thing...well, sorta...

I thought it was where the women are strong?

PHC quote for the day...

'Ketchup contains natural mellowing agents that let people know they are having a good time, even if they themselves are not sure.'

Oh-oh...does this mean that Randy & I brought you over to "the dark side" of longnose car appreciation? BTW, TWO used Caymens, both low miles, both discounted, for sale in this morn's paper. I wonder what's up with that? Buyer discontent early in the relationship? Thanks for the kind words Mike. Hopefully I'll last out the week...want to watch the Oklahoma-Oregon Ducks game this weekend. :)

Porsche-O-Phile 09-12-2006 10:20 AM

(All together now)

KETCHUP!!! KETCHUP!!!

:)

I gotta' see Keeler & Co. when they come out this way again.
