Half.Com purchase gone awry

Please, no "I told you so's" or lectures on "buyer beware"!!! I recently purchased four text books on Half.Com on 08/19/06. These four texts were ordered from different sellers. Two of these purchases arrived ahead of schedule and were exactly how they were described. The other two books were never sent. Since these purchases were made these two fraudulent sellers have become 'no longer registered users'. I tried submitting a claim 10 days ago but was locked out of doing this by Half.Com because insufficient time had passed. Today makes the last day of the 'blackout' period and I go to file a claim and see these two statements on Half.Com:

Quote:
Listed on Half.com Buyers are limited to filing one Buyer Protection Claim per month with a lifetime maximum of three Buyer Protection Claims.
Quote:
Listed on Half.com ... In addition, you may not contact the seller (or submit a Buyer Protection Policy Claim to Half.com) if you have instructed your credit card company to charge back the disputed item. Buyers that go though their credit card company to dispute a charge may have their Half.com membership suspended.
I am out a total of $117.88 and according to Half.Com I can only submit a claim for one of these purchases. Being that I have struck out so royally with Half.Com I have no issue in having my membership suspended and filing a claim through my credit card company. Does anyone have any previous experience in filing a claim similar to this? Does Amazon.com have better business ethics than the idiots allowed on Ebay or Half.com?

That seems like a scheme to make sellers look better than they really are. I guess you have to limit purchases on that site to once a month at most. I'll continue to stay away.

Sounds like things went as planned. Half.com (i.e. you get HALF of what you thought you were purchasing...)

No, I have no previous experience similar to this. Thank you for letting us know to stay away from Half.com I would report them to the BBB or some agency of the sort. Sounds like a formal complaint is what they deserve. If enough complaints are lodged I believe they will be investigated.

Do the chargeback. Half needs to discipline the sellers. I have used Amazon vendors 5-6 times, without problem.
