motorcycle track day vid

I figured out how to turn it on and I duct taped it to my helmet. I stepped on the vid to keep the file size low but the quality is not too bad and you can't beat it for around $80

I am chasing my friend, NESBA control rider Brian Wink. He is on a KWS racing superstock bike (GSXR 1000) and I am on my Aprilia RS250

Cool video!! Looks like a great bike track. Looks like it'd be fun in a kart too.

Nice! Track looks like a lot of fun. I mounted that exact camera to my Aprilia tonight. I mounted it above the dash inside the bubble. Will have some video from this weekend at Willow Springs.

I have picked up a few tips from some other forums for these cameras.
1)use the medium resolution for a higher FPS rate.
2) bring lots of AAA batteries
3) Epoxy over the mic opening.
I tried tape, then silicone. I am still getting tons of wind noise (on top of the helmet Duh! ) I think I will try the epoxy next.

Good tip on the batteries. Wind noise should be OK since mine is behind the bubble. I put a 1 GB card in mine. Good for 1 hour, 10 minutes!

Racing the TZ250 in the Roadracing World 250 this weekend at Willow. Pays $30,000 for first place.... although I think Rich Oliver has already cashed that check :(

Try dipping the mic into white glue. Should peel off if you don't like it.

Is your RS250 the race bike or the US"off road only" version of the the Euro street model with the Suzuki motor?

It's the Cup bike. I only know of a few Aprilia 250 works bikes in the US and all are big money. I think Motion can tell you the cup bikes are not that far off a TZ or Honda RS 250. Or not as far off as you would think. And without the knife edge tuning and setup requirement they are a huge $/fun bargin.

Couple of guys down here had the street legal Brit versions of the RS that had been brought into the US from Canada. Once they got titled in whatever sleepy state the snuck inot, they could be legally titled in Florida. I have heard that you can do any of the big bore mods to that bike that work for the Suzuki original. i would LOVE to see someone drop that new 450 V-Twin supermoto engine into that chassis. The factory bikes were NASTY.....but they had to be to break the stranglehold that the Japanese had on that class.

Well, the TZ weighs around 100 pounds less (220 lbs) and has 20 hp more (80 hp). I don't have any time on my TZ yet, since I crashed it after just a few laps a couple years ago. But I do remember it being fast as hell, where the Aprilia is a bit gutless. But then again, I mostly race at Willow Springs wich is mostly WFO for 9 turns, 2.6 miles. HP rules at this track. The Aprilia is definitely the most smiles per miles of any bike I've ridden, though! Gas-n-go 2-stroke racing doesn't get any better. Just my opinion, but a 450 V-Twin does not belong in this chassis. 2-strokes rule!!!

I've been using one of these for a few months now. Picked mine up at Kits Cameras at our local mall. You can also get them at Amazon.com

They're great, but the wind noise is terrible. Even mounted behind the windshiled in my car, it's pretty bad - even witht he windows rolled up. I'm thinking it's a vibration thing, actualy.

Thanks Wolfe. Amazon was out of stock, so I got one from Ritz Camera @ $79.99. Got a 1G SD card to go with it and free shipping. Best Buy has them at $69.99, but they were out of stock. Oh well.
