i am in the process of putting together a new setup for 2 of my 75 gallon fish tanks, and am making my own lighting for the tanks.
what i have is 2 timers which control when the lights come on and off (daylight/moonlight).
i need to wire 2 light bulbs to work off one timer and the 3rd off the other, both timers have std outlets which you plug the lamp cords into.
i've been doing low voltage electric for years but never messed around with 120 a/c so i need some knowledge :)

i have 3 light bulb fixtures which have ceramic bases, they have 2 wire terminals on them, one on the center pole of the bulb, the other for the bulb "threads".
understanding that a/c power is an alternating current can i just wire the 2 sockets in parrelel to a cord which plug into the timer?
wanted to check that it's this simple.

The center of the sockets is hot (black wire) and connects to the smaller of the two slots in the polarized plug. The "thread" contact is neutral (white) and goes to the larger slot. Technically, you're not supposed to splice lamp cord, but....

i actually have good wire (not lamp cord) which i'm putting a grounded terminal on at the end where it plugs into the timer, just wasn't sure about 2 bulbs on one cirquit.

You can use "quick connectors" and "quick plugs" on lamp cord, we use them all the time in the studios. Cooper wiring makes them and are sold at Lowes and Home Depot. Just open them up, insert wire, close and you're done.
