Very nice - take care of it and it'll last forever.

I like it, very nice. If you lose the plug, a pencil does the trick. I'm not sure on the regs in IL. but it's fun to fire off 5 quickly with out.:p

Well, I picked it up.

Any initial recomendations on shells for:

1) Home defense?

Federal Premium Tactical shells, reduced recoil rounds

2) Skeet?
I'd select a 26 inch barrel that has a removable choke feature so that you can select the best choke for either skeet, trap, or upland bird hunting.

3) Deer?
I'd buy a rifled barrel(if the shorter barrel in the photo isn't rifled) and use Federal Premium with the Barnes Saboted slugs which make great use of a rifled shotgun barrel.

The extended magazine is good for a defensive weapon, illegal in the field for hunting.

The folding stock is, and this is my opinion only, a bad thing because it amplifies recoil, you have nothing to which you line up your cheek to, and the pistol grip makes your wrist, a weak part of your arm, absorb way too much recoil. Remember, no matter what you may hear, you must AIM a shotgun in actual use. In home use, you want a regular type buttstock with a sling swivel built into it, and a sling swivel that mounts to the forward magazine support. You install your Giles tactical sling on the swivels.

Additionally, if you can't go in person, I strongly recommend the Tactical Shotgun training video from the Gunsite Academy.

Edit: Just remembered, the rifled barrel that came with your package will affect the pattern if used with other than slugs. When shot is used the pattern takes on a figure "8" shape. That might not be a problem when the shotgun is used defensively inside a house, but the only way to be sure is to pattern your shotgun at the range to see how the pattern looks at normal defensive ranges, 7-10 yards.
