You are a brave man Patsy.

Keep up the good work with your secession.

Way braver than you, I'd warrant. You'd have to have all your "team" to accomplish more than wiping your arse, whereas I'm just an American living my life.

Looking forward to enforcing the Bush fascist state I presume?

David,

Say nothing, less is more.
He is a man without shame, without honor...do not dignify him with a reply.

You are correct in that you are braver than me. Why the hostility when I thought you and I were such good friends old pal?

Only in your dreams.

Only a few Americans are less honorable than anyone in the miliary as a career, myself included.

You are right, Pat, you have no honor...even in my dreams.

Edit: I will not reply further. I know those I respect will understand. All the best.

The President, in the name of Congress, has awarded more than 3,400 Medals of Honor to our nation's bravest Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen since the decoration's creation in 1861.

For years, the citations highlighting these acts of bravery and heroism resided in dusty archives and only sporadically were printed. In 1973, the U.S. Senate ordered the citations compiled and printed as Committee on Veterans' Affairs, U.S. Senate, Medal of Honor Recipients: 1863-1973 (Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1973). This book was later updated and reprinted in 1979.

The breakdown of these is a duplicate of that in the congressional compilation. Likewise, some minor misspelling and other errors are duplicated from the official government volume. These likely were the result of the original transcriptions. The following is an index of the full-text files by war.

A more honorable group of Americans has never existed. Not even in Pat's dreams.

Randy

This is true and something I have considered often. Of course, if you understand the question, you ask it to yourself. Would I? And we just don't know. Most of us, anyway.

Another related thought is the quickness with which young men will reach a decision to stride headlong into a confrontation that has xx% chance of ending their lives. While I respect the whole "equality of the sexes" notion begin a few decades ago, I am damned tired of the notion that men are selfish. Bull****. A man is walking down the street with a couple of ladies, who may not even be relatives or close friends. A mugger confronts the group I assume with some confidence, that virtually any man in that situation will understand and serve his role. He will, at a minimum, occupy the mugger long enough for the women to escape. Selfish? Nope. Self-sacrificing? That's what I see. I am in the construction industry. The Industrial Athletes who build our buildings and bridges risk their lives and health every day. Nobody thanks them. That's just part of being a man. You just don't think about yourself.

And by they way, David and Randy and the rest of you service guys.......I don't care much for the leadership, or lack thereof, of your Commander in Chief, but I am in awe of your service and selflessness in performing your duty. It's not pretty. Not glamorous. But it's necessary and it is a high calling.

Pat.....shut up.

I cannot believe you have the balls to make such a post on this thread. You must have such a miserable life that you're angry at the world. I can only hope that you have a long life but would suffer in silence.

You're a feckless statist, of course you idolize the military, they're the statist's muscle. The statist's knuckle-draggers as it were.

Pat, you're missing the point ...

Anger’s my meat; I sup upon myself,
And so shall starve with feeding.
William Shakespeare (1564–1616), Coriolanus, act 4, scene 2

Just as the hand that strikes the ground cannot fail,
So is the ruin certain of him who cherishes anger.
Tiruvalluvar (c. 5th century A.D.), Tamil sage, poet

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Bible: Hebrew Ecclesiastes 7:9

Your problem doesn't lie outside ... it's within.

Those you ridicule are the ones who've granted you the privilege of your rants and raves. Your statist argument is intellectually bankrupt by the shear fact that you are free to spout your venom. You and your argument would not even be an afterthought if the scenario you professed were true.

Wise up and be humbled that men of honor suffer such fools as yourself.

There, I've cut it to the point. You appear to think serving in the military makes one honorable.

It does not.

Honoring and protecting one's family makes one honorable. Living a life of peace makes one honorable.

And last, I'm not angry at these poor deluded people, I think they're rather pathetic.

wow. wow. wow. characterising my son as deluded and pathetic...pathetic....where's your location pat? i would dearly love to introduce you to him. you're entitled to your opinion. perhaps you would be interested in expressing it to him in person come next may. lmk and i'll fly in and save you from a painful near death experience. maybe not. if he leans on you, you will break. rest assured. perhaps just choke you a bit, then a little t-bagging. then he can post the pictures on his myspace page and i will provide the link here. like i said, be sure to let me know.

Your childish, loutish post has been read.

I think this is typical of those who love the power being in government gives them, or cheering on a dictatorial government while it hunts down the target population de jour.

The bully boy mentality, just what we Americans need.
