Right here, but they better be getting some rest for tomorrow!

mschuep 10-20-2006 06:51 AM

The Cards win the pennant! Go crazy folks, go crazy!

CJFusco 10-20-2006 06:57 AM

Agreed... beat those Tigers!

speeder 10-20-2006 07:02 AM

Mets fan here. That was a great game, though. Heart-breaking for those Met fans sitting in the rain, ending such a great season like that. Nothing against the Cards, and they certainly won fair and square, but I think that the Mets/Tigers would have been a better series. Maybe it will be good, we'll see.

Rot 911 10-20-2006 07:23 AM

For those that didn't watch, I think the Cards-Mets playoffs have been some of the best baseball I have watched this year. Two good teams, with good managers. It was interesting watching the strategy they both used with their lineups and pitchers. Each team had a bat to be feared: Mets had Beltran and the Cards had Puljos.

I went to high school with Rolen and I have a hard time seeing him struggle like that with the shoulder injury and not able to get extended on the ball. Why he was being picked inside I will never know. When that one almost went yard I was like YES YES YES, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

kwm 10-20-2006 07:52 AM

pitched inside I menat to say.

mschuep 10-20-2006 07:53 AM

I agree with you Kurt. With the exception of the 12-5 cards loss, there was some really good baseball. Every pitch counted, and each team had a chance to win in the final innings.

Honestly, I don't think either team has pitching that can compete with the Tigers...With Pedro and El Duca (sp?) the Mets would have a better shot, but then again so would the Cards if they had Mulder.

LOL I must still be fired up I cant even type today. Gotta love sports. I wore my jersey to casual friday today and I might be really stretching the casual part but I dont care.

kwm 10-20-2006 07:56 AM

I do have to admitt I am pretty worried about the Tigers and all the rest their pitching staff has of late. I just hope we can be 1-1 going back to St. Lou.

bivenator 10-20-2006 09:18 AM

yes go cards, i'm a stro's fan all the way through. I will take the cards class organization over the mets any day. watching the ny fan sit in the rain was fantastic. serves them right. i'm still bitter over the 86 nlcs that had the mets beating the stros. i do expect the tigers to win as they seem to have a much better team and are playing very good in the playoffs.

kwm 10-20-2006 09:27 AM

I am not a big fan of NYC fans in general. I have been throught it all before...Pacers vs Nicks......the unusually rude NY fans. I HATE NY. I should get a Tshirt of that made huh..... And, don't get me started on how the sports franchises just try to buy titles. That is what I love about the Cards win. You have a guy making $14 million whoose pitches are getting hit by a guy making $300, 000 per year. GREAT isnt it? (Philly is the only place with worse fans than NYC IMO)

Go Cards!!!!!

Fantastic series - had me nervous the entire time.

This is our year. Played so-so ball all year in the lead of a crappy division and came alive when they needed to. Detroit is going to be tough but we will come out on top. I have tics for game 3 in St. Lou! Never been to a WS game.

How bout Molina? His bros have to be proud.

Big Ed 10-21-2006 06:00 AM

The Cards were great, and that was a good series.

I don't think they have what it takes to beat the well-rested Tigers, though.

gr8fl4porsche 10-21-2006 07:49 AM

We're hoping they are the well rusted Tigers.

gr8fl4porsche 10-21-2006 09:44 PM

How 'bout them Cards!!!

Guess we're not gonna get swept. Nothing like a big FU to all the non believers and haters out there. Listening to the media and call-ins on the sports shows, you'd think the series was over before it started.

Cards looked fantastic tonight - Reyes pitched his best game of the year. Even if we don't win all 4, the look on the dejected Tigers fans faces was priceless.

Sonic dB 10-21-2006 09:47 PM

Tigers were very rusty today... Verlander has had a terrible post season and appears that he may not have much left in his arm or his psyche to get another start if this series goes 5. He is the only Tigers pitcher who has been terrible in the post season...

We will see what happens here on out. If the Cards win the series, then they will deserve it.

gr8fl4porsche 10-28-2006 08:14 AM

Go Crazy Folks, Go Crazy!!!

Jack would have loved watching this series.

Never underestimate the underdog.
My first year ever with season tickets and we win the World Series.
Its good to be a Cardinal fan!!!!

pwd72s 10-28-2006 08:33 AM

Enjoy, Randy. Sports news here said the Cards the worst team (in terms of games won during the regular season) to ever win the series...they should take some pride in that.
