Spy shots - Corvette Z06

I'm pretty sure this car is a hot rod version of the hot rodded Corvette Z06, maybe it's Just a 2007 or 2008. It was headed north into downtown Ann Arbor on Main Street heading towards the EPA testing center if I'm right.

I took the pictures at about 9:00 AM 11/02/06.

EDIT: This car did not have manufacturer plates, and was being driven by a woman doing her best to ignore me.

It would have a manufacturer plate on it if it was a newer GM model coming out. I see funny looking cars all the time from GM and they all have a man. plate on them. That is some private individual's car maybe being prepped for a race or something else.

Hmmmm strange......

Having an old oil spewing 911 buzz around you like a fly circling dog dodo may not of been the highlight of her day - sorry lady.

Not much in the sound department to report as it was never opened up, traffic was kind of thick.

We were in a 45 mph zone, after a mile went to a 30 mph zone and then a stop light.

The truck-like rumble of a Viper V-10 was not there.

The whine of a supercharger was not there.

Remember, I was in a 29 year old air-cooled 911 with the windows up and no heat (shot heat exchangers). If there was any sound to hear, it was from my antique and I was loving it.

The view from a Porsche of the killer Vette.

Get used to it.

I'm so silly.

give it a 1000bhp and price at $20k and i'm still not interested... what's the point? just to go fast? i'm pretty sure i can put a down payment today for space travel if i wanted to... it's not what you do, it's how you do it.

call me back when 1/2 of europe starts raving about what a great sports car they've become...

I like the cardboard hood scoop.

Are you sure this isn't another one of those 'E-Bay specials'!

That hoodscoop looks horrible. Can't we make fast American cars without all of this cheesy retro styling crap?

I understand where your coming from, but in answer to your posed question "what's the point? just to go fast?". The answer is, yes!

I live a coulple of blocks from the Big-House (U of M stadium). Thank goodness that Saturday is the last home game. I don't know if I can eat any more brauts or drink any more beer this year. My lawn is a not so private block party every game.

I don't know what it was about the late 1960's and to a lesser extent the early 1970's but there was magic in the air. I mean look at all the arts; music, film, automotive design, architecture.....................the list goes on.

Liberal thinking is good for something afterall.
