I can't get this song out of my head. I guess it's because while stringing up the Christmas lights, I notice that printed on the box is a warning about a chemical used in production known in the State of Californina to cause birth defects and reproductive harm.

What the hell is wrong with CA? I'm in VA, am I safe? :D

Don't worry. The state of California itself is known to cause birth defects and reproductive harm.

The only issue is that the state of California doesn't tell you is that if you take as much as they are talking about, it will also KILL YOU

Just make sure the Christmas lights are good for "indoor or outdoor use only".

CA is a crazy place. You don't want to come here. Nope. Nosirree. The sunshine we used to have is gone too. And the beaches. No bikinis either - it's all one-pieces these days. Stay in the midwest - nobody else move here, nothin' to see. Move along.

I just drove from San Diego to Yosemite. There was SMOG all the way, and the worst Air was from Bakersfield to Fresno. A medical building had air quality listed on the side: Unhealthy.

You can keep it. I prefer my SMOG with a touch of BBQ sauce and some cheap gasoline!

Back when Oregon's population was 1/3 of what it is now, we had a popular bumper sticker:

Unfortunately, the bumper sticker wasn't enough. Oregon is now thoroughly screwed....many times, by Californians who have moved up. "They paved paradise, put up a parking lot."

This is the way of the world, anyone that thinks they can hold it back must be planning on the big Holy War.
I lived in Coast Rica for years, people kept worrying about the changes, I told them they better see it now and do it now cause it will never be like this again. Same for everyplace in the world.
See it now, and do it now.

How come their is such a lovefest for this state until the inhabitants move somewhere else and that state's inhabitants start complaining bitterly? Why did they move in the first place?

With all the problems, California is still a great place, THE WEATHER, and then there is the WEATHER, and for some of the snow bound people, there is still the WEATHER. Also, California must be the 5th or 6th largest producing nation in the world, GNP, Canada is probably the 12th or so, just to put it into perspective.
But then California probably has more people living in it than Canada.
There are problems here but just magnified because there are so many people, if you don't have a job in California, it's because you don't want one.
