When you account gets hijacked and the hijacker lists somethig for sale as he phishes for more personal info or a stray down payment from a sucker eBay collects a listing fee from YOU. When you report the scam they issue you an eBay credit and keep the fee. They sit on your money and you get a ****ty credit.

I wish I understood exactly what you're saying. It seems that if someone hijacks my "identity" and then lists something in that name, I'm hit with a listing fee and other charges. Is this correct?

Yes you're hit with the charges they take your money for the fee, then when its corrected you only get a credit with eBay.

mines (wifes) has been stolen twice. watch out for listings that dont have a pic of the actual item...a downloaded pic of 4 wheeler from honda's site.
