Junkyard Wars

I really miss this show.

I really miss Cathy Rogers.

stomachmonkey 01-07-2007 07:49 PM

ditto.

artplumber 01-07-2007 07:53 PM

Know what happened to them? They seemed to be increasing in audience base when I last saw them. Not the usual formula for cancellation.

Edited for spelling (duh)

Quote:

In 2001 she was promoted to the role of Creative Director at RDF Media's new Los Angeles center, where she has overseen the company's activities in the USA, including the American versions of popular shows such as Faking It and Wife Swap.

Cathy Rogers has also enjoyed success as a musician, having played keyboards and sung vocals in the twee pop groups Heavenly and Marine Research.

Cathy now runs an olive farm in Loro Piceno, Italy, famous for its unique tree-adoption scheme.
I can't find any good pictures of her. :(

Interesting. I was just overseas and its still being shown on the UK's Discovery channel.

Joeaksa 01-07-2007 08:37 PM

off the air according to this.. so probably repeats in the UK.
:-(

Moneyguy1 01-08-2007 09:38 AM

I also miss all the other shows like Robot Wars and Battlebots.

the 01-08-2007 09:40 AM

Never saw the show, but you can keep the chick. Woof.

Moneyguy1 01-08-2007 09:54 AM

Cathy may not have been what is considered by many "a beauty" but
was witty, smart and had a lot of hutzpah. I will take those qualities over "beauty" anytime when considering a long term relationship.

"Good looks don't last.....Good cooking do...."

If by "different" you mean "incredibly homely," I agree.

slakjaw 01-08-2007 11:04 AM

Why not witty, smart, a lot of hutzpah, AND at least a little bit of beauty?

Good looks and good cooking?

Not quite sure I get your logic on this one, but that's OK.

Never saw the show, so I don't know how witty or smart she is (although I'm sure "She has a great personality!), I've just seen the pictures in this thread, and I'm just sayin' . . . woof! That's a double bagger.

Moneyguy1 01-08-2007 11:17 AM

And, respectfully, you would prefer someone like the "beauties" of Hollywood that can't chew gum and walk at the same time (or remember to put on their skivvies)?

Different strokes for different folks. I like relationships that have at least a modicum of intellectual content. Beauty in a woman (or man for that matter), without substance is about as enticing as a marble statue. Fun to look at but no soul. I do not know anything about you, or your age, but the comment I posted about cooking simpy means that as time goes by your tastes will change and you will value character and talent above fleeting good looks.

legion 01-08-2007 11:23 AM

Cathy was creator and executive producer of the show, she wasn't just the co-host. She did much more work behind the scenes.

azasadny 01-08-2007 11:32 AM

My friend, Dan Danknick was one of the founders of Robot Wars and BattleBots.
