Apple Phone.
I know I'm pre-ordering as soon as it's available.
The thing is running OS X. You should be able to anything with it that you want. http://www.apple.com/iphone/ Complete touch screen. |
Yep, they got my attention too with this one! Also works w/windows!
|
I will wait for the two-years late to the market, cobbled together, bug ridden, massively hyped, clone Microsoft phone thank you very much :)

Don't be a hater. Apple is obviously very good at judging market demand with design and features. This thing looks like a huge winner to me. I'm pre-ordering the Apple TV, also. Looks awesome.

I own two current WM devices...a Cingular 3125 WM5 smartphone and Cingular 8525 WM5 PocketPC. They are OK, have a couple of cool features, but by and large are still klunky. By all appearances the iPhone will blow them out of the water. I will replace probably the 8525 with the iPhone as soon as it comes out (I still like a flip for daily use). Rumor has it that a second Apple phone design is about 6 months out.
As usual, Apple elegance wins out. v2 of the device will probably be stunning... |
did you see what apples' stock did after the announcement? ;-)
|
I did.... and I am dancing a happy dance right now :)

Your future phone

I like the look of the phone, but what makes it $500 cranks?
|
Initial launch prices are always high! Give a month an prices will start dropping and competition will kick in! ;-)

If you can run Skype on this, you would have a free videophone anywhere there is a wireless network to hook to. Sounds cool. I`ll have to study this puppy...

I would get one except that Cingular service is horrible in my area. I used to have Cingular, and I got no service at my house and at my office. Since I'm at one of those two places most of the time I had no service most of the time. And I live and work in densely packed areas. I'll get one in a year or two when other cell companies are carrying it.
|
Cingular only.
Max of 8GB. Uh....battery life? $599 with a 2-year contract? Lame. |
The initial offerings are usually designed to be limited in capabilities. The subsequent models are refined and more capable in their uses, thus continuing the 'need for the new technology' ie: bluetooth capabilites! The initial Ipods are a good example and now look at their capabilities!
PS: compared to what is currently being offered in phones, this is a quantum leap! |
The design of that is beautiful. If the price drops by about 50% I'll do it.
Currently I have the Motorola SLVR which is cool (built-in iTunes capability - so it's like an iPod in addition to being a phone, camera, etc.) Apple's design aesthetic is light-years ahead of most everyone else. Very nice and clean. I'm patient about things like electronics - it's the only way to avoid getting ripped off blind by that industry. It'll still be cool in a year or two. I can wait. |
