Steve McQueen posters
OK, it's been established that at least some of you have Steve McQueen posters in your garage and/or bedroom, so I thought I'd start a thread for everyone to show what Steve McQueen posters they have.
I'll start. This one I've had for several years above my bed...enjoy! (More to come) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171394555.jpg |
is this in response to the "Heels & Wheels" thread? ;)

She said "Mc - Queen", not queens of every assortment!

I am amazed you even know who Steve McQueen is.... I had you pegged as younger, pondering Tattoos and all. Where did you become a fan of Steve McQueen?
When I was young, the first job I had was an usher in a Theatre. First Movie that was shown was 'Bullit'. That chase scene was so cool. |

So lead singer of Queen does not count?

I've been into McQueen since I was around 18 or so; I think I got into him when I read an article about him in Automobile Mag in June of 2002. It was thru him that I got into Porsches really. That, and my neighbor at the lake had a Porsche that he parked in our garage...and the rest, as they say, is history. I had a high school English teacher who also was a McQueen fan and he gave me a list of movies I should see that were among the best...I'd seen Bullitt and I went out and got a copy of LeMans on the 4th of July in 2003...incidentally, that's when I saw my favorite car that I one day intend to own, a 1983 blue-gray 911 SC targa...the owner used to live in my neighborhood but he moved a few years ago. His was the first Porsche I ever rode in, several years ago when I was about 15 or 16 (didn't have a car then) and he picked me up from my house to babysit...I know he still lives in Charlotte, so if any fellow Charlotteans ever come across a blue 911SC targa with 'DAWS-1' on the license plate, that'd be the car. Edited to add: Speaking of McQueen, I have a book of photos of him by William Claxton, as well as two issues of the Sports Illustrated back in '72 that featured him on the cover. In addition to Porsches, Shelby Cobras, fastback Mustangs, and 1960s Jags, he also got me interested in dirt bikes and motocross, particularly vintage Triumph and Husqvarnas. I one day would like to own a 1968 Triumph TR6 dirt bike like the one he had...they are just soo cool! If you want to see a cool motocross movie, watch "On Any Sunday"--McQueen features in it and it's a great look at the early days of dirt bike racing... |

That's all very cool 911 Girl... Great to see young people who embrace more than just what's "cool" at the moment. Movies, Music, Television, there is a lot of interesting stuff that's been done by all generations and if you don't open up to it, you're missing out. Luckily, lot's of it can be found via the internet if you look hard enough.
The Triumph TR6 was car, not sure what the motorcyle was, maybe a 'cub'? But hey, the lead singer of queen is cool too... check em out. |
Well it seems that you're the only one with a poster! At least willing to admit it.

I know the TR6 was also a car, my dad had one in his heyday...sure wish he still had it! |
Steve doesn't do anything for me. I'm not attracted to guys and besides, he looks like me. And if I did have a Steve McQueen poster I sure wouldn't hang it over my bed. No, that's where the Porsche911girl poster goes.
