Panamera Spy Shots

Heavily disguised but sure looks like it:

That could be a fantastic sedan. I bet it will destroy Cayenne sales.

How weird, from the roof lines it looks as if they stretched the car and added five inches at about the middle of the back door.

The lines are pretty bad, nothing sexy about it.

Weird lines could be from two things, stretched wheelbase or the hatch arc.

Could be smoother like these:

can't wait to see the NASCAR version!

You can clearly see the real rear door glazing outline on the side shot.. and my feeling is that they have added a false roof, hatch cover over the rear section to disguise the exact profile....like they have over the front headlights.

The black contact over the head lights is clear, you are right. I'm still not sure about the outline, perhaps they did add a false roof in the triangle I outlined, and put that black tape on it starting where I have the arrow. This would explain why even the second door top edge is goofed up.

there is an article in the march issue of "automobile" on the new 4-door with good pics.....i haven't decided if i like it or not yet.

They can't drop the roof too drastically or rear seat headroom won't be any better than a 997.

Tons more leg room though.

The altered roof line is just and 'educated' guess.. but the glazing line is certainly not the 'chrome trim' line...its far more curved and dips below the trim line exactly were you draw your line for the triangle...

I think that they may have learnt about ugly cars from the Cayenne MK 1:D

Kind of has an Audi-ish type vibe to it...

Yawn?

You will be making money off this car design in a few years, be a little more excited about it.:D

Looks like a squashed down Cayenne

tc-sacto 02-19-2007 08:44 PM

Looks like they successfully mated an Audi all road with a Dodge Magnum.

jyl 02-19-2007 09:30 PM

Sort of Porsche's interpretation of an Avant.

Still, I think it could be a decently attractive car, relative to the competition. Mercedes and BMW are not making things of beauty nowadays. At least the Panamera won't have a baboon butt like the Bangle Beemers.

That was my first reaction, too.

If this is the "new" 928", then they've really sunk. Any way you slice it, imo, this is boring and uninspired.
