John Edwards? Seriously?

This guy is currently in the race for Dem Nomination? Seriously?

What a frickin joke that guy is. Did you all see him 'debate' Dick Cheney? Cheney is arguably one of the least liked, least personable guys in the federal government. Edwards should have owned that debate from the start. Can a political party claim non-affiliation with a guy like him, or do they have to allow him to stay around until the primary?

Hopefully, with both parties being so entirely full of crap, a non-affiliated candidate will get a strong showing.

He's so pretty.

Another example of the Youtube influence on politics.

Since I didn't get you bribe in the mail I'm voting for Lubemaster.

rammstein 03-22-2007 04:42 PM

OK OK-

My bribes will be going out very soon. I am working on my official campaign, which will be pre-released right here on Pelican Parts.

If my wife had bone mets from breast cancer, I don't know if I'd be willing to spend the time away from her with campaigning and possibly becoming President. (Not that I think he's got a snowball's chance, but why run if you don't think you can win?)

legion 03-22-2007 06:04 PM

Edwards made his money suing OB/GYNs out of business for kids born with cerebral palsy. He got an "expert" to testify that doctors' negligence caused the condition (it did not). He's not fit to clean my toilet with IMO.

rhjames 03-22-2007 06:19 PM

legion--aire's disease.....any one affiliated with any other party except the Bush A**kissers.

Still convinced Bush is the greatest thing since peanutbutter.

To bad you didn't live in my home town when Dubya was gub'ner.

What an idiot.

rhjames 03-22-2007 06:29 PM

Legion-----

You complain endlessly about the Dem's in Chi-town or Springfield, yet you support Dubya in everything he says and does.

Here's what Dubya did for my home town:

We were annexed by the great City of Houston in a hostile take-over.

We called on Dubya to help.

He told us he wouldn't get involved (because he was too busy fixin' to run for President).

Result?

EMS, police, fire, response times doubled/tripled.

Taxes went way up.

More cost to home/business owners due to City regulations.

All of this, in a community of 67 thousand residents, where over 80% either vote re--Bubb or Conservative.

HE TURNED HIS BACK ON HIS OWN PEOPLE.

And you still support him despite repeated failures in everything he touches......

Truly amazing. You still, just don't get it.

Noah930 03-22-2007 06:33 PM

Legion's past posts notwithstanding, how do the two lines he just wrote have anything to do with W?

(Not that I'm a fan of Edwards, either. But then again, I'm a physician, so you'll have to excuse my contempt for him.)

legion 03-22-2007 07:02 PM

1) Troll for argument (either by starting a thread or joining another)
2) Argue
3) When that fails, change the subject
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3
5) When all subjects are exhausted, use personal attacks

rhjames 03-22-2007 07:10 PM

6) admit you're wrong, misguided, or just plain brainwashed.....

In any case, you are still a closet liberal waiting for Dubya to save the day---(which will never happen)

Rearden 03-22-2007 07:15 PM

From this New York Times article:

In 1985, a 31-year-old North Carolina lawyer named John Edwards stood before a jury and channeled the words of an unborn baby girl.

Referring to an hour-by-hour record of a fetal heartbeat monitor, Mr. Edwards told the jury: "She said at 3, `I'm fine.' She said at 4, `I'm having a little trouble, but I'm doing O.K.' Five, she said, `I'm having problems.' At 5:30, she said, `I need out.' "

But the obstetrician, he argued in an artful blend of science and passion, failed to heed the call. By waiting 90 more minutes to perform a breech delivery, rather than immediately performing a Caesarean section, Mr. Edwards said, the doctor permanently damaged the girl's brain.

"She speaks to you through me," the lawyer went on in his closing argument. "And I have to tell you right now — I didn't plan to talk about this — right now I feel her. I feel her presence. She's inside me, and she's talking to you."

--------------
This nonsense netted him tens of millions of dollars throughout his career and raised the cost of childbirth for all Americans. What a scumbag.

legion 03-22-2007 07:18 PM

Who are you?

Your trolling and picking fights is getting old and your straw man could use a brain. I suggest you learn to chill out or you are going to give yourself a heart attack in short order.

hytem 03-22-2007 07:30 PM

Edwards has gotten zero media since that poll a month ago showed he was the only Dem who could beat McCain and Guiliani. That's when the nightly Hillary-Obama show started, which left Edwards in the dust.

He's now back in the news, and it took his wife's recurrence of cancer to do it. He needs a new PR director.

rhjames 03-22-2007 07:36 PM

my trolling----OH, boy.

how many threads are you on----going off about the problems of Ill-of -noise? (more than one---and that may have been two too many?)

If you're really that hurt by my comments about your comments, I'll gladly stop pointing out the obvious....

another backer of the conservatives that can't stand to have his political stand actually debated......

have a nice day.....

legion 03-22-2007 07:40 PM

rhjames, you have an unhealthy obsession with me. I strongly suggest you give it up an move on. The anti-W song and dance is old. You have not debated me on anything, and have rather chosen to repeatedly personally attack me. I have reported your posts to the moderator.

One down, 80 million left! Thanks Scott, I will do my best to be as mediocre as possible and I promise not to seek re-election.

No excuses necessary. He's contemptible. In addition to his legal/medical vampirism and his risible populism (building now a 29,000 sq. ft mansion as he laments the "two Americas" -- guess which one he occupies?), he's now running around asking, or preaching, "what would Jesus say". This after hiring two of the most anti-Christian bloggers in the leftist hemisphere to pander to the Daily Kos crowd. This is a man who not only shouldn't be permitted near the White House but who should be forcibly ridiculed out of public life.

lyon 03-22-2007 09:01 PM

I think we need a pelican candidate for president.
