Update on the Indian Police Shotgun
I have talked to a coupla guys who really know their stuff when it come to Indian War artifacts. They basically said that Shotgun I bought trys to hard to say its Indian Police...too many marks and cartouchs.
However I have spotted another similar Shotgun up for auction in Ohio....that is marked "Standing Rock Res 1889" I have to call on that shotgun and watch what kind of money it brings. One of 2 things either thats the way the Indian Police did things or somebody is producing fakes????

Tabs,
Both India, Pakistan and Afganistan are excellent arms makers. Take them a copy, photo or blueprint and they will make you an exact copy in a few days. Hope that this is not what you have. Joe

Naw this is an old shotgun that apparently somebody put some stamp marks on to make it look like something its not. For the money I have in it, I bet I will still make a profit on the gun in the end.
If you want a Mauser model 1896 the Paki and chinese could build a handmade version of the gun. It would be very crude by comparison to the orginal.
