Ebay abomination of the day
Yea, I know, it's "only" a 308, but still. Why people do crap like this to otherwise nice cars is beyond me. PO ought to be castrated for that tumor in the rear seat.
|
Not knowing what a Dino 308 should look like, I don't know what makes this one worse.
|
Isn't that a chopped Maverick?
|
Jeff, this isn't a nice car and should be treated as such. GT4's are as ugly as Gremlins and Pacers, worse really in that it looks like someone took two completely different cars and glued them together.
|
I'm not a Ferrari expert, but I thought Dino's were always 6 cyl cars.
|
The only thing I don't like:
-speaker -contrasting interior -chrome "grill" in the front -Yellow wheel centers Other than that, I like the black on black. Quote:
Didn't a Pelican just buy a nice GT4? |
I dunno - yea, it looks dated, but no "worse" than a 914 or other car from that era. The guy looks like he went nuts on the interior with a sawz-all in the interest of putting in that pimpin' stereo. Gawd, what is wrong with people. Even a GT4 engine has to sound better - that's the music I'd want to hear!

The GT4 was groundbreaking iwth the mid-engined V8 for production cars, but I'm glad Ferrari went back to Pininfarina for the 75 GTB. |

Except for the horrible "Xplod" speaker and the paint on the wheels, it's not bad. They've got some other ineteresting stuff in inventory, but I'm always wary of the quality of cars at a place like that.

I'm not sure this is a hallmark of a reputable exotic car dealer: http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imag...tAnimation.gif |
When I read your post, I was expecting to see the car converted to a SBC.
What kind of crackmonkey puts a big a-- speaker in the middle of their rear seat? |
Most pictures I've seen of GT4's in books, the authors didn't like the cars, and I feel they took photos to intentionally make it ugly. I've finally seen and heard one in person, great car! I'd take it over a 308 GTB!
http://www.andrewscars.com/ferrarichat/131/001.jpg Dave, Dino's where named after Ferrari's son, the road going 206 and 246 models did not carry any Ferrari badges - they where Dino's. This is a Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, they added the Ferrari name when they introduced the car. Quote:
There are lots of Ferrari's people wouldn't pick out if it didn't have the name on it. The 550 Maranello would be one. If you are going to buy a modified GT4, this would be more my style. http://www.dino-gt4-registry.com/08020.htm Things changed on the ebay car that I see, is complete removal of front bumpers !!! Just a mesh screen, the sound system is mentioned - and I would never want a rigged in sound system on a Ferrari of that period. Messing with the electrical system is a no no, and difficulty of trying to sort out problems, and the potential for it creating problems is too high. I'm not a big fan of the Dino wheels being painted black from their standard metal color. It wouldn't surprise me if the car had chrash history, and the owner rather then restoring it to original, went cheaper. |
