And neither of them were overtly gay... as a matter of fact we all went out and drank beers one night (mmmmm mircobrews). They weren't the least bit effeminate at all except that they slept in the same bed. As a matter of fact living in Los Angeles all my life I probably know even more gays that I don't even know are gay!

My point being why do some people have to get all in our face about their sexuality?

Yeah, I can agree with your frustration. I think its a natural human behavior to over-react to inequality of any kind. Hippies fought "The Man" the best way they knew how, by shoving everyone face in their long hair, loud music, and pot smoke. Certainly there is a cross section of the gay community that is ready and willing to bust out ass-less chaps and bondage gear at the first hint of Straight-Male disgust.

Do I like it? Not really. But I understand where they are coming from.

I thought this thread was about gay marriage and the associated benefits from employees?

And my dogs breath smells like dog food.

Two neighbors of mine are lesbians/live-in couple. They're nice. I couldn't care less about their lifestyle choice. But they look like mean, angry, buzz-cut butch cops. THAT bothers me. They are eyesores. I can't stand women who try hard to look like men and men who try hard to look, and worse, act like women.

I only break out my ass-less chaps on very special occasions... Christmas, new years, etc.

Gay marriage doesn't bother me,I am surprised that homosexuals have become interested when heterosexuals have lost interest in marriage. Also I've never known a heterosexual couple to get married so they could share medical insurance.

We've had gay marriage here for a couple of years and the Commonwealth has not collapsed. In fact, barely anybody seems to notice. I'm amazed people actually debate this.

Nice comparison. Both groups provided -0- benefit to anyone but themselves.

Whether you are sticking your prick in another man's poop-chute or smoking pot and playing a guitar in the park i have zero use for you...IF that's how you choose to define yourself.

But it's not the actual act/sin that causes me to dismiss such folks, it's the insistance on defining themselves by this one small piece of their being. The 'in your face' attitude mentioned already on this thread is pointless.

Someone once posted on this board that people who define themselves by one thing (be it Porsches, homosexuality, football or whatever) are not very much fun to be around. (or something along those lines:))

If you happen to be gay but i don't even realize it after spending time with you then guess what, i will judge you as a human being and not fag # 4320012594. If you find that pot smoking eases the stresses of your life and is a worthwhile pasttime but i don't know this after 6 months of working with you...well then i will be your friend if you are a good-hearted person who has similar interests. I won't exclude anyone from my circle of friends based on one simple part of their lifestyle (assuming they aren't bank robbers or kiddie porn producers or whatever).

+10,000

With so many straight people choosing not to get married why are the gays so up in arms about this?
