Pan's Labyrinth

Saw this movie over the weekend. It was hard for me to get excited about a movie where the "good guys" are communists and the "bad guys" are fascists. Considering it was in Spanish with subtitles and pretty graphic, I would not recommend this movie for small children--it will give them nightmares for years. Still, it was a fantasy (kinda like 'Narnia') set over the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War--though I have no idea what the intended "message" of the movie was.

Agree may not be the best movie for kids, but I liked it and recommended it to my (adult) children. I too am not the best at the "intended" message, leave it to the reviewers for that.

So what do you guys think? Did the little girl dream it all up with her imagination? Or was it "real" in the movie.
