Porsche 911 engine coffee table
I don't think that my wife let me put this in the living room...!
I picked up a 2.0 longblock last year for $200, with the intention of doing just that. In the end the heads, pistons & cylinders were too valuable to justify using as a coffee table. I still have the mag case, but haven't decided what to do with it.

I've seen that table in person before. They used to have that engine sitting in the lobby at Autotechnik in Pennington, NJ and I always stopped by there on the way to my folks' house. Would LOVE to have that.
Up to $660 now...
They put flowers on it so the wives wouldn't notice the engine underneath.
I have a set of Webbers that would be appropriate in something like that...
Where's my can of spray paint? |
That's cool, I bet Curt Egerer buys it!

Thing is, I'd prang my bare foot off of it at least monthly.

I'm working on a V8 coffee table right now. I would love a 911 engine for one, but I figured for now I'll use a garbage engine we already have. It's already stripped to the bare block, I simply need to finish cleaning it up, then source some good glass for the top. I'll post some pics when I'm all done.
If it were an 944 engine, it would be a well set-up coffee table...
